NMIMS University has always been at the forefront of providing its students with quality education and state-of-the-art facilities. The premium institute has further supported the vision of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) in developing an international standard university at Nagpur that will offer education from nursery to multi-disciplinary higher education courses. The launch of the Nagpur off-campus will not only stop the migration of students from the region but will create many job opportunities.

The new facility would be on a sprawling 45-acre plot. It aims to serve 3,000 students within five years of commencement, offering diverse academic programs from KG to PG. It will house several schools, including Management, Engineering, Commerce and Economics, Law, Pharmacy, Humanities, Architecture, and Hospitality Management. Additionally, it will offer IGCSE/IB and CBSE curriculum options, catering to a wide range of educational needs.

The off-campus is designed to be a comprehensive educational hub featuring world-class facilities such as a central library, sports infrastructure, staff quarters, and separate hostels for girls and boys. February 28, 2024: Following the tremendous success of the inaugural Marathon, SVKM's NMIMS Chandigarh is prepared to host the event again.

The Marathon 2024, which aims to promote physical well-being, community development, team spirit, and accomplishment celebration, is currently accepting registrations. Beginning at 5:00 am on March 10, 2024, at the NMIMS Chandigarh Campus, the Narsee Monjee Half Marathon offers three race categories: a 5 km run, which is open to men and women of all ages, a 10 km run, and the renowned 21.5 km half marathon. T-shirts, finisher medals, timing bi-benefits, and an electronic finisher certificate will be given to participants. In the meantime, champions in every category will receive prestigious cash prizes, gleaming trophies, and opulent gift baskets to commemorate their victories in addition to enjoying the glory of their victory.

Leaders from business and academics came together on one platform for the Marathon 2024 Poster Launch Ceremony, which was also organised by NMIMS Chandigarh. The ceremony, which was held in the college auditorium, was a critical turning point in the marathon preparations.

Important dignitaries graced the occasion, including Big FM, the radio partner for Marathon 2024, representatives from ICICI Bank, Mr Sanjeev Aggarwal, CEO of Scott-Edil, and Ms Vaishali Aggarwal, technical director of Scott-Edil. NMIMS Chandigarh SOL's Legal Aid Camp Empowers Sarangpur Village with Legal Awareness and Support

February 7, 2024: The Legal Aid Clinic at SVKM’s NMIMS Chandigarh’s School of Law (SOL), in collaboration with the State Legal Services Authority (SLSA) of Chandigarh Union Territory (U.T.) and the Department of Social Welfare, Chandigarh, hosted a Legal Aid Camp in Sarangpur Village, Chandigarh, on January 30, 2024. Under the guidance of Mita Chadha, Assistant Professor and Faculty Convener of the Legal Aid Clinic, SLSA, and Department of Social Welfare, Chandigarh, the camp saw participation from members of the Legal Aid Clinic, NMIMS SOL Chandigarh, esteemed delegates from SLSA, and the villagers of Sarangpur.

The primary objective of the event was to raise legal awareness and educate the residents about the availability of free legal aid for the underprivileged. Members of the Legal Aid Clinic engaged in door-to-door outreach to inform the community about legal aid initiatives and the services provided by SOL Chandigarh's Legal Aid Clinic. A highlight of the event was a street play performed by the Legal Aid Clinic members, focusing on women's empowerment. Additionally, delegates from SLSA addressed various social issues during the gathering.

Shiv from SLSA initiated the event with an inspiring speech, followed by Jasveer Kaur shedding light on societal prejudices against girls. Sukhdev Kaur elaborated on relevant laws and encouraged attendees to openly discuss legal matters. Mita Chadha introduced the Legal Aid Clinic and assured the community of free legal assistance. The event left the Sarangpur residents motivated, inspiring them to voice their grievances and seek help from the Legal Cell. It was a testament to the Legal Aid Clinic's commitment to social issues and legal advocacy, reflecting its dedication to serving the community.

The Chandigarh State Legal Services Authority Hosted a Transformative Legal Awareness and Capacity Building Session at NMIMS Chandigarh School of Law

November 6, 2023: To celebrate National Legal Services Day, the Chandigarh State Legal Services Authority, in collaboration with the State Legal Services Authority of Chandigarh Union Territory (U.T.), held the "Legal Awareness and Capacity Building Program" to teach students about access to justice and the field of Para Legal Services. The event was for third and fourth-year NMIMS students and recent NMIMS alumni who want to get a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in the United States of America or Europe. The event gave them the chance to talk to senior delegates from top global universities and learn about career opportunities abroad.

Senior delegates from top global universities, including Dr. Shivraj Kanungo, Vice-Dean of the George Washington University School of Business; Prof. Christine Gozdziak, Assistant Dean of International Partnerships at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, GIES College of Business; Dr. Arman Davtyan, Assistant Dean at Pepperdine University, Graziadio Business School; Prof. Amanda Barth, Assistant Dean at William & Mary, Raymond A. Mason School of Business; and Prof. Richa Agrawal, Country Manager of Bocconi University, visited the NMIMS Chandigarh campus and gave presentations to aspiring students about the various programs and opportunities offered at their prestigious institutions.

NMIMS Chandigarh Promotes Social Responsibility with Blood Donation Drive 

October 5th, 2023: Prayatna, a student-led Social Responsibility Club at SVKM's NMIMS Chandigarh, collaborated with Rotary and the Blood Bank Society Resource Centre, Sector 37, Chandigarh, to arrange an extremely successful Blood Donation Camp. 60 donors, including academics, students, and staff, contributed to the event.

Dr. Manish Rai, Director of the Rotary and Blood Bank Society, ensured a safe environment and that testing norms were followed. This, paired with the professionalism with which NMIMS ran the camp, created faith in the donors. The event also witnessed a large number of first-time contributions, demonstrating the NMIMS community's commitment to the great cause. Third-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) students served on the organizing committee. The committee was important in arranging the success of the Blood Donation Camp, exemplifying collaboration and commitment under the direction of Maaheen Hassan and backed by Dhruv Kapoor and Sankalp Saxena.   NMIMS is committed to fostering socially responsible corporate leadership in addition to offering students with opportunities outside of the classroom. Environmental, Social, and Governance is the newest trend rising in the business as corporations strive for sustainable corporate governance. The Blood Donation Camp is one of several on-campus initiatives organized by NMIMS Chandigarh to increase student awareness of ESG.  

Prayatna is a student-led social responsibility club on the NMIMS Chandigarh Campus that promotes community involvement and welfare. The organization, led by motivated students, is dedicated to organizing initiatives that inspire good change and contribute to the benefit of society.  Some of Prayatna's early activities attest to the organization's unwavering commitment to making a good difference in society. In November 2022, it planned to hold a Financial Inclusion camp in partnership with the State Bank of India. The event provided information about important government initiatives such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, and the Atal Pension Yojana to underbanked workers. Dr. Jaskiran Kaur, Campus Director, NMIMS Chandigarh, commented on the successful Blood Donation Camp, saying, "NMIMS SOC Chandigarh appreciates the able support of Rotary and Blood Bank Society Resource Centre in ensuring the success of the Blood Donation Camp in our campus." Renowned Legal Luminaries Inspire Aspiring Lawyers at NMIMS Chandigarh's Moot Court Workshop

September 27, 2023: SVKM's NMIMS Chandigarh's School of Law recently organised a revolutionary event titled "Moot Court Workshop: Skills and Court Mannerisms." This event provided students with an essential opportunity to interact with famous legal practitioners who offered their knowledge of the legal profession and the important role that Moot Court contests play in moulding future careers. Moot courts assist law students in closing the gap between what they learn in class and real-world legal practise. It also assists students in honing their case-arguing abilities, conducting legal research, and thinking critically. Furthermore, moot courts help emerging lawyers develop teamwork and writing skills.

Dr Jaskiran Kaur, Campus Director of NMIMS Chandigarh, presided over the proceedings. The programme featured notable legal luminaries such as Advocate Ravneet Singh Joshi and Advocate Harlove Singh Rajput. NMIMS Chandigarh's Yashmit Chawla Leads 'Delight in Diversity' Festival Held in Bulgaria

August 22, 2023: Yashmit Chawla, a driven third-year BBA student at NMIMS Chandigarh Campus who is specialising in Finance, has been recognised for his essential work in planning the fascinating "Delight in Diversity" Festival that was hosted in Bulgaria. This famous event served as the capstone of a three-week Student Boot Camp that had been transformed by the Erasmus+ programme as part of the HARMONY project. The "Delight in Diversity" Festival highlighted the combined efforts of students from prestigious colleges in India, Vietnam, and Bangladesh during the charming Summer Theatre in Dobrich, Bulgaria. Together with his colleagues organisers, Yashmit Chawla set out on a quest to develop an engaging and enlightening cultural event that valued international understanding and promoted cross-cultural relationships.

In his second year at the NMIMS Chandigarh Campus, Yashmit Chawla participated in a digital storytelling competition, which was the beginning of his path to lead the festival. Yashmit won the competition, which was a component of the Harmony Project supported by Erasmus, and was chosen as one of the 21 winners from India, Vietnam, and Bangladesh. The next voyage took him to the Varna University of Management's revolutionary three-week Boot Camp. The rigorous selection procedure for the Boot Camp included a two-round assessment. Yashmit and his classmates were tasked with developing a storyboard and making a short video that examined multicultural understanding and posed questions about entrenched assumptions. Yashmit was chosen as one of the 15 participants out of a pool of applicants from around the institution because of his creativity, technical proficiency, and the influence of his storytelling on the audience's emotions. Yashmit had an eye-opening immersion into many cultures throughout the Boot Camp, receiving firsthand knowledge that went beyond what was learned in textbooks. Three modules—event management, intercultural competency and communication, and leadership—were covered by the camp's well planned curriculum. Cross-cultural contact was encouraged via collaborative assignments and varied team interactions, which improved Yashmit's comprehension of global dynamics.

 As the event director for "Delight in Diversity," Yashmit navigated the dynamics of 21 students from diverse backgrounds, crafting a program that showcased traditional dances, music, and arts and crafts from India, Bangladesh, and Vietnam. The event's resounding success left a lasting impact on the audience, inspiring deeper connections and cultural appreciation. Participating in 'Delight in Diversity' has broadened Yashmit’s global perspective and deepened his understanding of cultural exchanges.

Reputable legal experts participated at the event and provided insightful commentary on subjects including "Privacy and Data Protection Laws." The NMIMS Chandigarh Campus Director, Prof. Dr Jaskiran Kaur, spoke to the audience and assisted the prominent specialists. Advocate Gagan Pradeep Singh Bal, a Senior Standing Counsel at the Election Commission of India in Punjab and Haryana High Court, and former Senior Counsel of the State of Punjab in the Supreme Court of India, shared his extensive experience and knowledge with the attendees. He spoke about the importance of such activities acting as a galvanizing force to attain the metamorphosis of budding lawyers and help them reach their zenith. NMIMS Chandigarh Campus Hosts North India’s Biggest Inter-school Quiz Competition - Kushagra

February 7, 2023: The first Kushagra: An Inter-School Quiz was recently held at the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) in Chandigarh, drawing players from all around India.

Students in Classes 9 through 12 could participate in the test. There were more than 760 participants in the virtual preliminary rounds from 50 different institutions. The top 50 teams from throughout India were selected for the Grand Finale, which was hosted at the NMIMS Chandigarh campus, following a close elimination match. All of the selected teams arrived at Chandigarh Campus with heebie-jeebies.

Kushagra was created to recognise and honour youthful talent and provide them with a chance to demonstrate their knowledge and aptitude for quizzes. Quizzes, apart from being fun, are also a great learning tool, encouraging students to be confident and eager to explore new topics. The quiz contest covered topics on a wide range of subjects, including History, Politics, Geography, Culture, Heritage, Art, Food, Fashion, Sports, Science, Technology, Business, Literature, Mythology, and Current Affairs, to name a few. 

NMIMS University Announces New-Age Programs In Computer Engineering And Data Science At Their Chandigarh Campus

July 28, 2022: Two cutting-edge programmes in computer engineering and computer science and engineering (data science) have been introduced at SVKM's NMIMS School of Technology Management and Engineering (STME) at its Chandigarh location. The courses are meant to bring students up to date with the rapidly evolving, technologically based industrial processes.

A distinctive curriculum designed for the complete four-year B Tech programme in Computer Engineering will assist students in developing skills in cutting-edge engineering techniques and disruptive technologies. The course content adheres to worldwide standards and is balanced between computer engineering, basic sciences, and mathematics.

The four-year undergraduate B Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) curriculum provides a strong balance of engineering, mathematics, analytics management, and general education relevant to current Data Science skill sets.

The two B Tech programmes, which have been approved by the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), are especially created to give young people in Punjab, Haryana, and the neighbouring territories job and entrepreneurial options.

The programmes also provide industry internships and project work to help students get jobs or pursue additional education and research.

February 17, 2022: On the 25th and 26th of February 2022, SVKM's NMIMS University, Mumbai will host Mastermind 2022 - India's largest virtual Career Fair from 10 am to 5 pm on both days. Placements: It is the first batch of NMIMS, Chandigarh campus. Being a part of the first batch, students do not know much about the placements opportunities. But they provide the best placements, and students are also expecting the same.
