Q:   Can I join NID Vijaywada/ National Institute of Design, Andhra Pradesh directly?

A:

No, you cannot enrol directly in NID Vijaywada or the National Institute of Design in Andhra Pradesh. NID Vijaywada admits students through a two-stage admission test procedure. The first step is the national exam administered by NID, called the Design Aptitude Test (DAT). The interview and design portfolio constitute the second phase.

You must have received at least a 50% grade in your class 12 Diploma from an accredited board in order to be eligible for the DAT. Any of the three NID Vijaywada-offered disciplines—industrial design, textile and apparel design, and communication design—may be applied for the DAT.

You will be placed for the design portfolio and interview if you pass the DAT. Your design expertise and skills should be on display in your portfolio. You might talk about your reason for pursuing a career in design as well as your design portfolio during the interview.

Admittance is extremely competitive; only a small portion of candidates are chosen. On the other hand, your chances of success are higher if you have a strong portfolio and are passionate about design.

Our college is recommended with high level of exposure.
Placements: Around 98% get very good placements. Everyone gets placed with reputable companies. The highest salary package was 30 LPA and the minimum salary package is 9 LPA. Titan, ITC, penguin books, nick, and cartoon network are the top recruiting companies. Around 100% of students got internships. Graphic designer, Animators, and Illustrator are the roles offered.
Infrastructure: Hostel facility is not there. Colleges don't have a campus of their own. New college campus is almost ready. Resource centers are excellent and also have a subscription for e-libraries. Studios have high technology equipment. Campus has a Wi-Fi facility. It also provides transportation facilities. Canteen provides good food.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, hold a great position in the industry, give students personal care, are very knowledgeable, and are helpful. The curriculum makes the students ready for industry. Semester examinations are moderate. Initially, the exam seems difficult but the end is easy.

Good. Waiting for offline classes.
Placements: Well, many of my seniors are working for good companies. And you have to do a graduation project in the final year of NID. And your portfolio is more important to get some good jobs. It's not precisely like engineering colleges. Design institutes have slightly different systems.
Infrastructure: As of now, we don't have any hostel or mess service. But our new NID campus is being constructed in Amravati. It's almost done. We will be shifting there soon. It will have all the requirements you want. The construction was a little slow because of some government issues. but hopes we will be there soon.
Faculty: There are good faculty members. The course curriculum is based on NID. And there are no exams in NID. There will be a jury instead. But you will have to do a lot of work and will have time limits for submitting it. And there will be visiting faculty members. Many of them have graduated from good colleges as well.
