To be eligible for BDes at NIFT Patna, the candidates must have passed class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board and his/her age should be less than 24 years. 

The NIFT BDes admission criteria is completely based on the NIFT entrance exam. Aspirants with a rank of 3100 or below have a chance of securing a seat at NIFT Patna BDes.

For admission to NIFT Patna BDes, the institute accepts NIFT Entrance exam scores. The registration process typically commences in the month of November. The candidates need to fill out the NIFT application form available on the official NIFT website.

The NIFT entrance exam is conducted in two rounds, the first round is the General Ability Test (GAT) and the second round is the Creative Ability Test (CAT), both components hold 30% and 50% weightage, respectively. Candidates who get shortlisted after appearing in the NIFT Entrance exam will then have to appear for a Situation test.

BDes at NIFT Patna is offered in four different specialisations and they are, Accessories Design, Fashion Communication, Fashion Design and Textile Design. The duration of the course is four years and admission to NIFT Patna BDes is done through the NIFT Entrance exam.NIFT Entrance Exam is divided into three parts i.e. Creative Ability Test (CAT), General Ability Test (GAT) and Situation Test/ Group Discussion, and Personal Interview (GD and PI) round. Candidates planning to pursue BDes are required to appear for CAT and GAT exams followed by the Situation Test.

To be eligible for NIFT Patna BDes, candidates must have passed class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board and his/ her age should be less than 24 years as of 1st Aug of the year of admission.

The total NIFT Patna MFM fee is inclusive of various components, such as tuition fees, hostel fees, one-time fees, etc. The total tuition fee for MFM at NIFT Patna is INR 5.86 lakh. Further, a one-time fee of INR 21,300 must be paid at admission. Candidates seeking accomodation at the institute must pay an additional hostel fee of INR 2.28 lakh. NIFT Patna cutoff 2024 was concluded for all the UG and PG courses. NIFT 2024 counselling had four regular rounds and one SPOT round of seat allotment for admission to the B.Des, M.Des, B.F.Tech, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M courses. During the NIFT Patna cutoff 2024, the most in-demand course was B.Des. in Fashion Communication with a last-round cutoff of 1339. For the same course, the closing cutoff was 1812 in 2023, while in 2022, the cutoff closed at 1513 for the candidates belonging to the General AI quota.

The written tests for the NIFT 2025 exam will be held on February 9, 2025. The detailed schedule has also been released.

The written tests will comprise a General Ability Test (GAT) and a Creative Ability Test (CAT). GAT is mandatory for all candidates, but CAT is only required for B. Des and M. Des candidates. 

The GAT test will be considered in a computer-based mode, whereas the CAT will be offline based. Note that scores of the written exams will be used to shortlist candidates for a Situation Test/ Personal Interview.
