Commonly asked questions
On JEE Main Cutoffs

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

"Underrated College" – I am sure you will get more than what you have expected from the college.
Placements: As of 2024, the core (Mechanical and Metallurgy) branches have 100% placements. The highest: 15 LPA, The lowest: 3 LPA, Average: 7.4 LPA. Top companies: JSW GROUP, MAHINDRA & MAHINDRA, L&T, VEDANTA, TATA MOTORS, TATA STEEL, TATA AUTOCAMP. Talking about the placements of the Computer Engineering branch, the first batch will pass out in 2026. But it is predictable that placements will be very good since the college and students are very much focused on internships and skills. Although the college is in the upgrading process (meaning the cons are fixing), the current infrastructure of the college is good enough.
Infrastructure: Every hostel has Wi-Fi, but some Wi-Fi (~10%) needs repair/placement. Classrooms are well-equipped (including projectors and speakers). Labs and central workshops are also equipped with advanced machines. The library has a sufficient quantity of books but lacks Wi-Fi, AC, and an e-Library. The new administrative building will provide excellent facilities and features like advanced labs for departments. Hostels have good quality food. The mess serves tasty and good quality food. As of 2024, the canteen is in the upgrading process, but you can fulfill all your needs just outside the campus gate. Medical facilities are excellent. There are basic clubs: Art, Dance, Drama, Photography, Cricket, Football, Volleyball, NIAMT Racing (technical club), and Entrepreneurship Development.
Faculty: Professors are well-qualified from IITs, NITs, and other premier institutes. 90% of professors are good and helpful. Semester exams are of average to good difficulty, so you have to be prepared for the exams. Since the college is autonomous, the papers are set by professors.
Other: I joined the course because I have an interest in mechanics. Also, the Mechanical Engineering branch is the evergreen branch, so you will have lots of opportunities. This college is "Ragging Free," and GIRLS are very SAFE here. The decorum of the college is very GOOD.

Return on investment is best here, but the crowd is low, so extracurricular are not very active.
Placements: Placement is nearly 98% in metallurgy and materials engineering. The average package is moving around 7 - 9.25 LPA in 2024 (in campus). Major recruiters include companies like JSW Steel, Tata Steel, Vedanta, Jindal Steel, L&T, TCS, Mahindra, and others who frequently visit for recruitment. Many roles are in design, production, quality control, and project management.
Infrastructure: I'm in first year, so I can only provide a first-year hostel review (Homi J. Bhabha Hostel). The room is good, the hostel is very good, and the mess food is decent. There are 2 students per room, 2 tables, 2 cabinets, 2 small cabinets, 2 beds, and 2 chairs. The new washrooms are clean. The hostel is well-constructed with basic facilities like shared rooms, equipped with beds, study tables, chairs, and wardrobes. The rooms are spacious enough to accommodate 2 students, depending on the batch size and allotment. Wi-Fi is available but only for laptops. The hostel has common rooms equipped with televisions and indoor games for relaxation. Sports enthusiasts can access the campus's outdoor fields or courts.
Faculty: In terms of faculty, academics are the best. A 75% attendance is mandatory. Professors are supportive, and the classroom is the best academically. This college is best in academics. Most professors hold PhDs or advanced degrees from reputed institutions and have significant teaching and research experience. Many faculty members are involved in industrial consultancy projects and collaboration. Labs and workshops are integrated into the curriculum, and professors encourage hands-on learning through projects and assignments.
Other: I chose metallurgy and materials engineering because my brother said if you're going to NIAMT (NIFFT), choose metallurgy because of the best alumni network in this branch, placement, faculty, etc. Based on my JEE rank, I got the last branch, and I am from Jharkhand. I have taken placement here, and the return on investment was also good from the start.

Good placement and also has a good infrastructure.
Placements: The placement is good overall at the college, and there are many companies visiting for placement. The average package is 6-7 LPA and the highest package is 19 LPA. The faculty members are very helpful and almost every student is placed. In this college, Vedanta, JSW, Maruti, etc. are visited for campus placement .
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good. The classroom and the lab are well maintained but in the library, there is a shortage of books. The hostels room are good; in every room, you will find study table, chair, fan, etc. Wi-Fi and electricity are always available 24 hours a day.
Faculty: The faculty is highly qualified and very helpful. Faculty help us academically and non-academically and give us the right path to achieve our goals in life. The curriculum is well define but the Some time it is not follow the curriculum. The pass percentage is 35% in each subject.
Other: I think the coding culture will improve. There is very little crowd on campus.

Shortly, this institution is a prestigious institute for mechanical and metallurgical engineering.
Placements: Almost 100% of students were placed. The highest package in mechanical engineering is 16 lakh per annum, and the lowest is 4 LPA. The average package is 9.5 LPA, which is better than many NITs. Most recruit companies are JSW. Almost 97% of students got internships in JSW Steel and Vedanta, which gives an average of 8 LPA.
Infrastructure: Hostel is good. The mess is also good . It gives proper food for a healthy life. The quantity is enough to fulfill all the students’ needs. The facilities and infrastructure are lower than NIT but sufficient for spending a good college life. Many programs or seminars are held every month.
Faculty: Faculty is good , all are qualified and have done PhD from authorised institutions like IIT and foreign institutes. Difficulty faced in the semester exam due to an incomplete syllabus, but it depends on students who have done their HW and complete their syllabus through a reference book which is present in the library.
Other: Choose this course because in that institute, mechanical engineering is good in placement wise, and many students crack GATE exam with AIR 3.

My review on our college and my experience till now.
Placements: The average package was 7.5 lakhs. The highest was 14 lakhs off campus. Our college assures 90 percent placement. JSW and Vedanta Steel are mass recruiters. Placements are conducted by the placement cell. Average CGPA for placement is 7.5. There should be no backlogs.
Infrastructure: Hostels are well furnished. Courses are mainly core-focused. Hostels are very spacious. Seniors are supportive. Lecture hall is very big. There are 6 hostels in total on our campus. In which 5 are for BTech students and one is for MTech students. Girls have separate hostels.
Faculty: Faculty are very supportive. Curriculum is a bit old. Faculty are graduates from well-known institutes around India. There are 4 branches, in which computer engineering, production and industrial engineering are the new ones. We have the biggest workshop in Asia.
Other: The intake for 4 branches combined is around 250 students.

Good college for those who want to study only, because many of our seniors got qualified GATE.
Placements: Right now, placements are going on in our college, and many students have secured placements in JSW with a package of 9.5 LPA. As per the previous trend, almost every student gets placement here with an average package of 7-8 LPA. The top recruiting company is JSW, and the company offering the highest package is Vedanta. Last year, Vedanta offered 14 LPA to a student, which was the highest.
Infrastructure: The buildings of our hostel are very nice, and this year, renovation work is also underway. So, it will improve the look and interior of the hostel too. There is availability of Wi-Fi, a volleyball playground, a common room for watching television, and playing table tennis. The food here is not quite good, but our hostel, HJB hostel, is quite spacious. In our college, only 1st-year students live two in a single room; otherwise, all the students live in single rooms. You will also get 24-hour electricity, no water problem. Medical facilities are good, and the doctor is also good. Caretakers of the hostel are also nice.
Faculty: Actually, the teachers are very good; they are very helpful in nature. Also, their teaching skills are too good, and they have good knowledge. The most important thing is that they teach in a very good manner. Also, there is no restriction on anyone of any kind in the classroom. I currently haven't appeared for exams, but our institute has become deemed, so from now on, the difficulty of exams might increase.
Other: Actually, for the branch of Materials Engineering, this institute is one of the best institutes, which also gives tough competition to NITs. The only thing that I don't like here is that there are no good fests and no such excess of extracurricular activities, but these activities are slowly increasing. Also, you will get a chance to avail scholarships.
