Navigating Mediocrity: A candid review of Pailan college of management and technology.

Placements: There is no placement in this college; Its only suitable for a job candidate or someone who just needs a degree for GATE or any other hobbies. Although there is a regular update regarding off-campus opportunities on the college notice board,. Apart from that, its all your hard work, no role of college.

I am very much disappointed with the accounts department.

Placements: Only 60% of students got placed. The maximum placement rate is 70%. The highest package offered is 2 to 2.5 LPA in Kolkata, and out of Kolkata, it is much more than that. Sometimes, some companies offer 3 to 3.5 LPA, but they require extraordinary skills, which is not possible for a BCA fresher to have. Companies like Archeitive Solution, PCS Global, RK Infotech and other small companies mostly approach the college. For online or off-campus placements, there are Wipro, TCS, Cognizant etc. Till t...

Good faculty members in ECE department, need to improve the labs, no Wi-Fi.

Placements: Very poor placements for core ECE. Almost 40% students got internship from the college. The highest offer we got 3.0 pa and the lowest offer we got 1.2 pa. No recruitment for core jobs. I am not happy with this recruitment process. They have to improve this.

I am dissatisfied with placements but has good infrastructure, cooperative and helpful faculty.

Placements: Approximately 40% of the students were placed. The highest salary package of 6 LPA is offered by Hitachi, which was a pool campus drive, and the lowest salary package offered is 1.2 LPA for a technical content writer. The top recruiting companies were InstaData and Admavic Technologies. But mostly technical content writer roles were offered in our college. About 3-4 of us got placed in TCS, Wipro and Cognizant through off-campus drives. ObjectSol was also an off-campus drive.

College is all about money. No good placement. Bad maintenance. AC doesn't work.

Placements: Very few percent of students got placed. The lowest salary is 5000, average is about 10000 and highest is 20000. Capgemini is the top company. Softer engineering roles were offered. Students are going to MSME for their training.

Faculty members are good, but the placements are bad.

Placements: We were told that the campusing was very good in the previous year. But at our time, it was not much good. Companies that visited our college offered the salaries of only Rs. 8,000 per month to Rs. 10,000 per month, and it is present outside of Kolkata. Only BPO companies offer placements. It is quite tough to survive outside Kolkata with that salary packages.

It's a good college, but the placements are not assured.

Placements: One should not rely on the college for placements; students should be talented enough to get placed. Placements were provided for our batch. MindTree, TCS and others companies visited the college. Three to four students of our batch are working for TCS and CTS.

It is a college with average infrastructure.

Placements: There are not many great opportunities for on-campus placements. There are moderate opportunities in pool campus placements where a number of different colleges participate too. For on-campus drives, mostly IT startups come with offers and roles related to testing, development and voice process with an average package of 2-2.5 LPA.

Absolutely dissatisfied due to faculty, infrastructure and lies told.

Placements: On-campus placement is very poor. Atmost 3 candidates might get placed. Students are taken to different pool campus interviews and exams to opt for the jobs among a large number of candidates. Some of our seniors got placed in TCS. Average salary offered is about 16000.

TRY TO AVOID ADMITTING IN PCMT (pailan management and technology). .

Placements: B.Tech is started recently here, our college give placements but not too much. Some minor companies come here and take very few students with them. In future I hope this condition will change but in current situation it is poor as much I know. Management is good though. Students of BBA and MBA streams got better opportunities. B.Tech students hardly got 8-10k salary job offer with flooding and lodging facility.

Very disappointed with this college.

Placements: There were no proper campus drives. Two or three companies that turned up did not have much to offer to the students. The placement officer was changed several times, and none couldn't do anything. As such, not many from my batch got placed. At some point in time, I just wanted college to be over. Most of my batchmates got placed via walk-ins and moved into higher studies.

Mirror mirror on the wall, please tell how bad is our college at all?

Placements: The worst. Maybe at that time, these kinds of colleges do not have many placements but ours is a bit worse. Our authorities and HODs didn't make a minimum effort to call the companies. Moreover, the most important fact is every semester, our college took around 7000 rupees in the name of the training and placement fee. But everything is just a business.

Reasonably satisfied, only the placement part is to be taken care of.

Placements: The placements were average as less number of students were getting placed. When it was our time, the placements were about 20-30%, and the highest package offered to be 15,000-20,000/-. The companies were mainly BPO companies and call centres for example HCL, Odessa etc. Te students were not offered internships as such and usually, we were asked to do summer training and vocational training.

Teaching was good and almost all faculty members were very helpful but lab was poor, many labs were not equipped with proper instruments, as an engineering student one should be good in practical also but lab classes were not satisfying the limit and bad placement record till our batch (as I heard it's getting little better this year). Library was also ok.

Pailan College of Management & Technology is an engineering and management based college of south Kolkata. Campus life in this college is attractive, but the quality of education is average here. Lab and library infrastructure is more than average. But the worst thing about the college is its placement record. Past placement record is very bad. But it has a reputation for organizing cultural program like fresher party, fests etc.

Promised to be a great college when I joined, but was a great disappointment after Four years. My faculties were great but everything else was and is not worth the mention. The classrooms were wonderful with AC's in all of them. The CSE department faculties were great but the other departments are pathetic. Only one single company visited our college during placements. But I believe the college still has all the potential to be a great tech college if proper management is administered.

The college over all is good. The bad thing is that they have a dress code and rules are strictly followed. The facilities and the faculty are very good but placement is not good. Friends will be good but it’s very difficult to do fests and all. There is no farewell.

Pailan College of Management and Technology, though high of brand name, but poor of placements and campus facilities. Expect for the B. Tech degree certificate, there is nothing to gain from this college. So if you want to have the fascination of B. Tech just to have the certificate, and the confidence to pave your own career path. Go for it!

I am absolutely dissatisfied with the placement assistance.

Placements: Our college did not provide placement assistance, and our college failed to bring companies on board. The placement cell was totally the worst. The college administration was a total failure in terms of placements. Placements were not conducted for our previous batches as well.

Overall it is an average college.

Placements: Placements depend on the individual. Both IT and core companies visited the campus for recruitment. Our college arranges pool placements and many top companies like CTS, and Infosys participate in the pool placement. The average salary package offered ranges from 2.5 LPA - 3 LPA. Kolkata doesn't have proper IT industries, so the college is struggling with the placements.
