B.A. (Hons.) in English - Batch of 2024

Best college for B.A. English Honours course.
Placements: I am currently enrolled as a student in the pursuit of a B.A. Honours degree in English at Panihati Mahavidyalaya. In our most recent batch, approximately 60% of students successfully secured placements in diverse fields. The highest annual package offered amounted to INR 5 Lacs, whereas the lowest package stood at INR 2.5 Lacs per annum. On average, students received a package of INR 3.5 Lacs per annum. Prominent recruiting companies encompassed publishing houses, media firms, and educational institutions.
Infrastructure: The English Honours programme at the college is supported by sufficient infrastructure. The classrooms are equipped with modern amenities, and the library houses a respectable collection of books that are pertinent to the course. While Wi-Fi facilities are accessible, there is room for improvement in terms of consistency. The hostel facilities are average, offering satisfactory rooms, and the mess serves food of decent quality. Medical facilities are conveniently available on campus, and there are ample spaces for sports and games.
Faculty: The faculty members possess exceptional qualifications, expertise, and consistently offer invaluable assistance to students. The teaching standard is praiseworthy, cultivating an environment that promotes effective learning. The curriculum for the B.A. Honours in English is meticulously designed, guaranteeing its alignment with industry demands and equipping students with the necessary skills to tackle future obstacles. Although the semester exams are moderately challenging, they are well-balanced in terms of evaluation, resulting in an impressive pass rate of approximately 80%.
Other: I opted for this course because of my deep-seated love for literature and language. The course stands out for its captivating curriculum and the faculty members who provide unwavering support. Nevertheless, there is a necessity for greater industry exposure and hands-on training to meet the demands of the current job market.

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) - Batch of 2021

Pretty average facility and infrastructure.
Placements: I don't have any idea that how much percentage of students were placed on our course. During our course nothing package was offered. There's no recruiting companies for our course. None of the students of our course got internship. There is no roles offered in our course.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available in this course was average, there's 2 buildings on our college and there was a Wi-Fi connection, lab for Science course students and there was a library also but all of them were average. There's no hostel on our college and the canteen was closed maximum days it opens for few days and there's no medical facilities or sports and games.
Faculty: During our year the teachers were helpful, qualified and they were knowledgeable and there teaching quality is good at that time but also some of the teacher's were lacking on teaching but yes at that time their suggestions were good. Yes this course is relevant for the students who were interested in arts. This course doesn't makes students industry ready in my thoughts you can't get big jobs with this course but you can get average jobs. The semester exams in this college were pretty much difficult it's not that easy, the pass percentage is 35%. .
Other: There's nothing such great reason for me to choose this course. The best things about my course as I remember is the teachers of Bachelor of arts course during our year. I wish that the infrastructure of the buildings, sitting benches, chairs and the lectures and notes from some of the teachers could be improved or better as some of the teachers are lacking on their duty. There's nothing such events happens on our college some few events like independence day, republic day, teacher's day happens occasionally. There's not much crowd in our college campus I can say it's averagely crowded, there's only a Wi-Fi connection and nothing much in connectivity on our college, the campus is surrounded by big walls and yes the surroundings are good, there's nothing about extracurricular activities on our college.

B.Sc. (Hons.) in Zoology - Batch of 2022
2.4

An honest review of Panihati Mahavidyalaya
Placements: Our college doesn't offer placements, you have to find a way to use your knowledge. If you are a zoology student, then there isn't any ready-made job for you. It doesn't matter which college you are from, but after completing the course, you can go for an M.Sc. and other government job examinations.
Infrastructure: The atmosphere in our college is good, but the toilets are not cleaned properly. Some departments in the Science building didn't have any benches. But the teachers are very good. The zoology labs are not updated, and the practical equipment doesn't work properly. Many of them are just for show. But the library is the best and most organised place in this whole college.
Faculty: Teachers in our college teach us very well, and they are helpful. They provide you with notes and other things. Online classes have a problem with consistency, they didn't follow any schedule. Teachers in offline classes are very serious about their syllabus, but in online classes, they take 1 class per week instead of 3 or 4.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in biology.

B.Sc. in Bioscience - Batch of 2022
2.4
3Placements1Infrastructure4Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life1Value for Money
I am absolutely dissatisfied because of the principal.
Placements: They didn't offer placements properly. They don't have honours for many subjects. I don't think there were any students who got internships. Our college doesn't have that facility.
Infrastructure: In our college, the science building is separated from the main building. The condition of our labs and classrooms is very poor. We don't have a proper toilet in the science building, nor a proper water supply. They are very dusty.
Faculty: Our teachers are really very generous. They helped us with everything from theory to practice. They are good. They teach us well. We understand their teaching. If someone doesn't understand a topic, then teachers can help them.
Other: I chose bioscience because I love biology so much. I was the only student pursuing bioscience there. They don't have honours for many subjects. There are so many opportunities in this field, like research, Ph.D., etc. For this course, I wish they had more teachers. They have only two teachers for almost every department. We've never had any festivals. In our college, nothing entertaining happens. The surroundings are bad. You can see some broken things scattered around the campus. They just said they have extracurricular activities, but there's no such thing as that. This is not a good college.

B.Sc. (Hons.) in Computer Science - Batch of 2020
1.8

Our college does not provide good faculty members.
Placements: Almost 10-15% of students got placed in this course. This college does not have on-campus offers. There were no top recruiting companies that visit our college for recruitment. Students have to find internships from outside. The top roles offered were software developer, designer, etc. Students can find basic entry-level jobs after this course.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi was available in our college. More than 20 computers were available. There were 2 laboratories in our college. Our building has 5 storeys. There were 3 classrooms for the CS department. Medical facilities were provided. Canteen facility was also available. Playground was available for sports activities. Mess facility was not available, and students can find it on their own.
Faculty: Only HOD was knowledgeable and helpful. The syllabus was good. But it does not make students ready for the industry. Semester exams were easy, and the pass percentage was 35%. In the laboratory, many teachers do not visit to help students.
Other: Our campus environment was better. Extracurricular activities like sports, art, etc., were conducted. Government scholarships were also provided to eligible students. Our campus crowd was normal. Many events like Puja and Christmas were celebrated in our college.
