Q:   Does West Bengal State University accept CUET score?

A:

As of the latest information, none of the state universities in West Bengal have implemented the Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG model for undergraduate admissions, according to authorities. This decision suggests that these institutions continue to follow their existing admission procedures rather than adopting the centralized CUET system. The reasons behind this choice could include considerations such as the compatibility of existing admission processes, autonomy preferences, or concerns about the effectiveness of CUET in assessing students. While CUET is gaining traction nationally, each state and its universities maintain the flexibility to choose their preferred admission mechanisms. This development in West Bengal highlights the diversity in approaches to higher education admission across different regions in India, with states having the autonomy to decide on standardized testing or uphold their traditional admission systems. It will be interesting to observe how this situation evolves and whether more states or universities opt to integrate CUET or similar models in the future, aiming for a standardized and streamlined approach to undergraduate admissions.

College is good also the faculty but doubt in placement.
Placements: The college has some placements. The top companies for placement are Apollo Hospital, IDFC First Bank, and HDFC Life. The college does not provide internships, so you will have to apply off campus. The packages depend on the student, but the average is INR 1,50,000 per year.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of my college is decent. The campus is good, and we have a good library with quality books. Our college provides free Wi-Fi with good internet speed. We have a very good canteen that provides quality food. Sports facilities are also available on campus.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable and provide very good teaching. The course curriculum is good, but not sure if it's good enough for the industry. The semester exams are conducted in other colleges, and the passing percentage is high.

RKMVCC: Absolutely Best Science College for higher studies.
Placements: In our college, most of the students are opted for higher studies like M.Sc., MCA, etc., and very few of them are opted for placement. The placement scenario of my college is quite good here; many students of our college got placed in companies like TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, etc. The majority of students get internships in their 3rd year in IITs, NITs, and many government companies like NIC (National Informatics Centre) and many more.
Infrastructure: The college has a clean and well-maintained campus with facilities, including well-equipped laboratories, libraries, and a good bandwidth Wi-Fi connection throughout the campus. All the departments of our college have projectors and smart boards in the classroom. The campus has a gym and canteen that provide very good quality food at an affordable price. In our college, there is no hostel facility for students; they can take private accommodation near the college.
Faculty: The faculty of our college is very helpful and friendly and provides the best support to the students. Faculty members actively guide students in securing internships and project work. Most of the faculty of our college are Ph.D.-qualified. The course curriculum is well-structured, ensuring a deep understanding of the subject. Our college semester examination system is not so difficult; there are two exams held each semester, i.e., mid-semester and end-semester.
Other: This is an autonomous college under WBSU and comes under the Ramakrishna Mission, and hence, has a disciplined and peaceful ambiance for all-round development. This college also provides scholarships for economically backward and meritorious students for their studies. In this college, a freshers' welcome programme is held, and many seminars are held every year.

Infrastructure: 1. Our departmental classroom is big and good, and the library is better for our college students because tons of books are there. 2. A big college canteen with tasty food is there. 3. The main things are having a medical room for all college students, and every year our college principal arranges annual sports on our college grounds. So, the college infrastructure is too good.
Faculty: Teaching quality is good. The second semester exam is most difficult, with very hard questions. Pass percentage is 5.67. Our teachers always help us in that moment. Our departmental teacher is highly qualified and has been awarded gold. So every teacher is very knowledgeable.
Other: I love geography. The best things are excursions. Morphology chapters improve the course. All is well in my college .

Infrastructure: Firstly, I loved the infrastructure of the college very much because it is a huge campus with many facilities. It is surrounded by lake and green garden with a huge playground and big basketball court. Many facilities in our college like projectors, library books, etc.
Faculty: All teachers of the college are very good and true leaders. They are well-qualified and can speak English fluently. They have good knowledge about their subject, but apart from their own subject, they also have knowledge about other things. They teach us very well.
Other: The reason for choosing the subject is that I love my subject very much. From a young age, I am very interested in this subject. The best thing about my course is that my subject is very good. But the college should improve their facilities a little bit.

Good Faculty in English Department.
Placements: Our batch had 70 students in the English Honours course. They don't really provide packages after a Bachelor's in Arts English Honours. No internship is provided either. We have a college union which is helpful at times. They provide the necessary help inside the college campus.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel in our college. It is a government college based under the state government of West Bengal. The quality of food in the canteen is good, and it's alright for the students. There is a ground provided inside the college where we can play sports like football and cricket. Indoor sports like carrom, chess, and table tennis are also provided. The college provides free Wi-Fi as well.
Faculty: The teachers in the English department are very helpful and friendly. Semester exams are as they should be, and the exams are conducted properly. They are not impossible to pass and are quite at the level of the students. The passing mark is 30 out of 75 in the external semester exams.
Other: I was interested in studying literature, and hence it led me to choose this course. I would like to improve the pace of teaching and would love the syllabus to be completed on time and with responsibility. Recently we had a fest in our college where a famous Bengal singer, Anupam Roy, was invited to perform for the students.

Q:   What is the selection process for B.Sc and what is the minimum CUET score required?

A:

Navigating the admission landscape for B.Sc. programs involves a nuanced understanding of the selection process, which can vary based on factors like the enrollment year, university, and specific program. For instance, to secure a spot in B.Sc. courses, aspiring candidates often need to clear the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) with a minimum score of 30%. This not only emphasizes a fundamental grasp of the subject matter but also underscores the importance of standardized testing in the selection criteria.

Moreover, proficiency in language is a key component, with a requirement to score at least 30% in any one language from section 1A in the CUET test. This multifaceted evaluation ensures that candidates possess both subject-specific knowledge and effective communication skills.

Delving into the competitive realm of Delhi University (DU) admissions through CUET, the stakes are higher. Most programs demand a minimum score of 60% or higher for consideration. To secure a coveted spot at DU, aspirants need a CUET score of at least 480 out of a possible 800. Scores above 650 are deemed excellent, while the range of 650+ to 700 is considered very good. A score exceeding 500 is considered decent for CUET 2024, but for admission into a top-tier university, aiming for a score above 650 is advisable, reflecting the competitive nature of the admissions process.
