Parala Maharaja Engineering College at its best view.
Placements: The placement is very poor in our college, and in the ETC branch, very few students got placed. Furthermore, the salaries for these placements are too low. The highest package was 3.5 LPA, while the lowest was 1.5 LPA. Students were mostly placed in teaching roles. Companies like Tata Power, Mahindra Satyam, and Wipro visited our college.
Infrastructure: Our department has good and high-tech labs, but they are only for show and not meant for student use. Students are not allowed to enter these labs. The classrooms are also good considering the conditions. The hostel is old and has poor infrastructure. Worst of all, the food is tasteless and unhygienic.
Faculty: Faculty members are well-qualified and helpful. However, some faculty members are poorly mannered and behave rudely with students. The current course does not adequately prepare students for industry roles, and students are required to take extra courses during their final year to be eligible for placement drives. The semesters are quite difficult to pass for the ETC branch, and the course itself is challenging and demanding.
Other: This is a government college that provides vast exposure to different fields, which is why I chose this course. The courses provide a good basic understanding, but they need to be updated by BPUT. Our college organizes an annual tech fest every year, and various clubs also operate on campus.

Deep inside Parala Maharaja Engineering College.
Placements: During my course, the placement scenario is absolutely poor, as no civil engineering company visited this college. The college is only good for CSE and other such branches. In the civil branch, no student got any internship, and mostly the students have to do project work in college.
Infrastructure: All laboratories are well-equipped with internet and Wi-Fi, but the college has limited Wi-Fi usage to 30 MB only. Besides all this, as this is a government college, all classrooms and the hostel have good infrastructure. In the hostels, meals are provided at a very fair price, and every year, a sports festival is also conducted to encourage sports activities in students. In college, all kinds of sports materials and equipment are available and are issued to students.
Faculty: All the professors are well qualified, but the problem is that, except for a few professors, most of them are not interested in teaching, and they teach very poorly. The teaching quality is somehow very poor. BPUT courses are very outdated and are not at all helpful to students. All students can pass exams by studying previous year's questions the night before, and the pass percentage is around eighty percent, as some also fail in semesters.
Other: I chose this course because I have a lot of interest in civil engineering, and the best thing about this course is that it prepares you for government exams. The course needs to be updated and made to prepare students for industry. Each and every year, induction programs, cultural fests, and campus startup programs are conducted, which brings a lot of excitement among students. Many different kinds of clubs, like NSS, Cadence, Sanskruti, etc., are there for extracurricular activities, and each and every year, the government of Odisha provides scholarships to students.

The placement scenario is pretty bad and only good college for those who want to study further .
Placements: The placement condition in my college is very bad. Every student is trying very hard to get placed, but due to a lack of opportunities, it has become very difficult for each one of us. Even after being one of the best students, I am here going for off-campus placements.
Infrastructure: The lab and infrastructure of our college are good; they are good enough for the students. The lab is also up to the mark, making it good enough for students, though it needs to be made better since the technology there isn't up to the mark and needs to be enhanced.
Faculty: The teachers in our college are a mixed batch of faculty. Some of them are really helpful and help you in working better, whereas there are some teachers who don't like you much and will try to put you down. Also, the curriculum is never finished and is very outdated and needs to be renewed.
Other: The college is a good college if you know you can crack off-campus placements; go for it. But since it is mostly in the interior part of Odisha, with fewer facilities, do not opt for it.

This is a Government college .
Placements: This is a government college, so placements are not so high, but overall, it is good. In this year, 2-3 companies like Tata Power, Bajaj Electronics, Havells, etc., visited our college. The highest package offered was 3.2 Lacs per annum, and the lowest package offered was 1.9 Lacs per annum.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very good. The college campus is big. There are two hostels: one boys' hostel outside the campus and a girls' hostel inside the campus. There are playgrounds like a cricket ground, volleyball court, badminton court, etc. Classrooms are spacious and digitally updated. Labs are spacious and have all the chemicals and apparatus used in the industry.
Faculty: Faculty members are good. They are highly qualified and experienced. They clear our doubts in the class or after the class by taking extra classes. They use simple language, which is easy to understand. The course curriculum is very good. There are two semesters in a year conducted by the University BPUT, and each semester has two sessionals, which are conducted by the college.

Parala Maharaja Engineering College is a very good college with an above-average placement record.
Placements: About 60% of students got placed last year. Most of the students were placed with salary package between 3 LPA-5 LPA. Most of the students placed were from the Computer Science and Engineering branch. The highest salary package offered was 7 LPA. In short, the placements were above average for the students who passed out. Some students are pursuing M.Tech and MBA from reputed institutes and some students got placed through off-campus placements.
Infrastructure: My department is Electrical Engineering Department. Electrical department has a very good reputation in our college. Our department has smart boards for the faculty members for teaching purposes. Our department has many labs like the machines lab and control system lab. Our hostel has 4 floors and a mess that provides meals to students 3 times a day.
Faculty: Teachers of our college are highly qualified and knowledgeable. They are very helpful to their students. Sometimes they take extra classes for the completion of the course so that students never face problems during exam time. They always try to make their students very successful. Semester exams are strictly followed in our college.
Other: I have an interest in electrical engineering, so I chose this course. I should improve myself for industrial work in the electrical field. Inter-college sports are played in our college every odd semester, we have also inter-branch sports.

Nice college to study but at the end requires hard work.
Placements: Placement here is very poor; as for CSE, the average package is around 3 LPA. Some students get high placement up to 10–12 LPA but average is poor. However, anyone can choose to apply for an off-campus placement. That might be a better value for campus placements. Placements are also good for electrical branches.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities are okay; you will get everything any student needs, so don't expect more than that. Food is average. Non-veg is given 3–4 times a week (day and night). The infrastructure of the college is good and especially for CSE, it is nice. You get good labs for your experiments.
Faculty: Faculty members are really nice and helpful. But the curriculum is also good but you have to acquire an extra skillset to be job-ready. Exams are conducted strictly here. Like small units, tests are also held with the utmost seriousness. Semester questions are made in BPUT so it varies from year to year.

Yes, there is a chance that you can get admission in CSE branch in PMEC. 83 is a good percentile. Usually cut off is around 75-80 percentile. And if not CSE branch than you can definitely get other branches.

You must increase your JEE Mains percentage because 78 percentile is not sufficient to get CSE branch. So, You have to increase your percentage and 12th marks are not considered.
