    Q:   Is PCPS - Periyar College of Pharmaceutical Sciences good for B.Pharma?

    A:
    {Source: B.Pharma students & alumni}

    Here's what current students and alumni have to say:

    * Placement Opportunities: Unfortunately, there are no placements for B.Pharma students. However, 40% of students get placed in reputed hospitals like KMC and Apollo Hospital after arranging placements themselves.
    * Faculty: Faculty members are knowledgeable, experienced, and mostly hold Ph.D.s. They are helpful and teach well.
    * Infrastructre: The college has a huge library with a vast collection of pharmacy books, spacious classrooms, and five laboratories. Although there is no Wi-Fi, the campus is well-maintained.
    * Teaching Quality: Semester exams are easy, reducing stress. Regular monthly tests are conducted, making it easier to prepare for semester exams.
    * Industry Readiness: The course curriculum does not adequately prepare students for the industry.
    * Scholarships: Scholarships are provided based on caste category.
    * Campus Life: There are limited extracurricular activities, and students must search for accommodation outside the college since there is no hostel facility for boys.

    Overall, while PCPS has some positive aspects, the lack of placement opportunities and inadequate industry readiness might be concerns for prospective students considering pursuing B.Pharma.

    * Practical Learning: Laboratory experiments are an integral part of the curriculum, providing hands-on learning experience and practical skills.

    Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.Pharma Programs at PCPS - Periyar College of Pharmaceutical Sciences

    Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the placement cell's effectiveness:

    * No placement services: Unfortunately, the college does not provide placement services for B.Pharm students. This means that students are expected to find placements on their own.
    * Limited opportunities: Although the college claims to provide placements for D.Pharm students, there is no mention of B.Pharm students receiving similar opportunities.
    * Inconsistent track record: Some students mentioned that in certain batches, placements were provided for B.Pharm students, while others did not receive any assistance.
    * Around 40% placement rate: However, one student reported that around 40% of D.Pharm students received placements through the college, which may indicate a relatively low placement success rate overall.

    Overall, the placement cell seems to lack support for B.Pharm students, leaving them to fend for themselves when seeking employment after graduation.
