CSR Activity by Praxis Business School

November 6, 2023: On October 14, 2023, student members of the Sparsh Club, a social responsibility club at Praxis Business School, visited the Free Educational Center in Mallikpur, Sonarpur, to donate clothes to the school's students. The Baruipur Women Police Station of the Baruipur Police District assisted the Praxis students during the drive.

Students from the Praxis PGDM program and their Sparsh club mentor, Dr. Sayantani Roy Choudhury, Associate Professor at Praxis Business School, handed out new clothes to the Free Educational Center students as gifts for the upcoming Durga Puja.

The school thanks its students Ankita Pandey, Alina Guha, Farheen Masood, Supriyo Mondol (batch of 22-24), Anubrata Ghosh, Ayan Ghosh, and Piyali DasGupta (batch of 23-25) for their active participation in the clothes donation drive. The school also takes this opportunity to thank all of the students and staff of Praxis Business School for their contributions to this noble cause.

Praxis Business School Conducts the 15th Convocation for Praxis’ PGDM Class of 2023 

April 17, 2023: The Praxis PGDM Class of 2023 attended its 15th Convocation on April 7, 23. The AICTE-approved Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) was awarded to 66 candidates in total. The event's chief guest was a well-known businessman and educationist Dr Pramath Raj Sinha. Dr Sinha's career has been rocky. He was an educationist who founded and served as chairman of Harappa Education, founded Ashoka University, and served as founding dean and executive board member of the Indian School of Business. 
Dr Sinha has made significant contributions to the development of higher education in India. He worked as a partner at McKinsey & Company, the CEO of ABP News, and the Managing Director of CNBC-TV18 before venturing into academia. 

The convocation ceremony was opened by Kamlesh Sajnani, Chairman of the Board of Governors at Praxis Business School. He then gave an energising speech. The director's report was given by Dr Prithwis Mukerjee, the director of Praxis Business School. The speech's highlights included the Praxis faculty's excellent number of research papers and the students' 99% placement success rate. Dean of Academics Prof. (Dr.) Sourav Saha then presided over the graduation ceremony. The recently graduated PGDM students received their degrees from Kamlesh Sajnani. The motivational speech by Dr Sinha was the evening's high point. He explained to the students through personal tales how traits like humility, empathy, responsibility, dedication, honesty, and the willingness to serve to characterise a successful person. In his final remarks, Prof. Charanpreet Singh, the founder and director of Praxis Business School Foundation, expressed gratitude. He counselled the pupils to act professionally and establish their own brands in the workplace.

Praxis To Design And Deliver Suriname’s First-Ever Master’s Programme In Data Science

September 1, 2022: The Polytechnic College, Suriname (PTC) and Praxis Business School Foundation, India (Praxis) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on August 23 to collaborate academically. The two-year completely online Master ICT programme in Data Science is to be designed and delivered in accordance with the conditions of the MoA.

The Praxis Business School believes that the leader for a digital tomorrow needs to understand data, be a critical thinker, a capable learner, ethical, effective communicator, and understand data and technology. Praxis Business School is India's No. 1 Post Graduate Data Science Program (Analytics India Magazine Survey, 2021) and the only Indian institute to place more than 29 batches of Data Science students.

This is Praxis's first international venture, and to assure the success of the Data Science programme in Suriname as well, they will collaborate closely with PTC.

PTC is a university of applied sciences where emphasis is placed on knowledge, project-based learning, and technical innovation. It was established to provide Surinamese businesses with skilled labour equipped with cutting-edge digital skill sets.

Praxis will be accountable for the following as the academic partner of the proposed online-mode Master ICT degree in Data Science:

• Curriculum design in consultation with PTC
• Faculty appointment
• Program delivery (Online mode)
• Conducting exams and evaluating answer scripts

The establishment of the programme office, management of student entrance and the programme, course infrastructure, and placement will all fall under the purview of PTC.

Praxis Business School at 15: Creating Digital Leaders for Tomorrow

August 3, 2022: The Kolkata campus of Praxis Business School, a prestigious university dedicated to creating future digital leaders, hosted the 16th annual Foundation Day celebration.

Kamlesh Sajnani, Chairperson Board of Governors, Praxis Business School Foundation, gave a welcome address to kick off the programme. Sajnani offered his congratulations to the staff, instructors, and students throughout his speech.

The Praxis success story, according to Sajnani, "would not have been feasible without the relentless efforts of all its current and former staff, workers, and graduates, who were involved in different roles and worked diligently to make it one of the greatest business schools in the country. Moving forward, we can only ascend higher.”

A tree plantation drive was held and saplings were planted as the main event of a long-standing Foundation Day tradition. This enduring custom is what has led to the lush vegetation on campus.

The first business school to launch a full-time Post-Graduate Program in Data Science in 2012 was Praxis Business School, which was founded in 2007. This course marks a decade of graduating Data Scientists who are currently in significant roles in the field. The Analytics India Magazine Rankings 2021 recently gave this programme the top national ranking. The most popular programme in the Eastern area is still the flagship PG Diploma in Management (PGDM), which is currently ranked No. 2 in Kolkata and No. 4 in Eastern India.

Dhruv Sharma Of IIIT Bengaluru Wins First Praxis Data Science Student Championship-South Zone Challenge

June 22, 2022: After a gruelling final round held in a city hotel on Wednesday, Dhruv Sharma, who is currently enrolled in his seventh semester of Computer Science Engineering (CSE) at the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Bengaluru, was declared the winner of the inaugural Praxis Data Science Student Championship-South Zone Challenge. Creating future digital leaders is the primary goal of the prestigious Praxis Business School.

Along with coming up with a workable and long-lasting solution to the "Rent Predictor" challenge, Dhruv also won a monetary prize of INR 25,000 and a certificate of achievement.

On May 12, 2022, the first Praxis Data Science Student Championship-South Zone Challenge went live online. It was organised as a hackathon. Due to the overwhelming enthusiasm, contributions were accepted until the first week of June. From a total of 550 submissions, the top nine finalists were then frozen.

For the third and final step, an offline event conducted in Bengaluru, the finalists received invitations. They were given two more analytical questions to answer. The finalists had to respond to the questions and explain the reasoning behind their strategy. On the basis of this, the panel selected the winners.

The hackathon was judged using the Machinehack platform, which is managed by Praxis Knowledge, the hackathon's knowledge partner and chief analytics content producer in India, Analytics India Magazine.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, IIT Kottayam, Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai, and AKNU College of Engineering from Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh were among the other institutions represented in the finals. Certificates of recognition were awarded to each finalist.

Praxis Holds Annual Convocation of Their PGDM Class of 2022

April 26, 2022: In the august presence of Chandrashekar Ghosh, Founder, MD & CEO, Bandhan Bank, Praxis Business School, a leading university focusing on developing future Digital Leaders, celebrated the annual convocation event of their PGDM Class of 2022.

As the 14th batch of Praxis' flagship PGDM programme entered the corporate sector, Ghosh motivated them. The Praxis Business School's main campus in Kolkata hosted the Convocation Ceremony.

A total of 58 students got diplomas, with four Merit awards being given out as well. Sahyn Banerjee took first place, Shirshendu Battacharya took second place, and Rupali Patra took third place.

Ghosh then gave the Convocation address, captivating the students with personal tales and lessons learnt while developing a top financial company like Bandhan Bank.

"The two-year journey of this batch with Praxis has been satisfying and challenging – as we transitioned to a hybrid style of academic delivery. Praxis Business School Announces PAT July Dates for Data Science Batch

March 16, 2022: The Praxis Admission Test (PAT) will be held on March 26, 2022, at Praxis Business School. The Praxis Admission Test (PAT) is a national entrance examination administered by Praxis Business School for admission to the PGPDS with AI and ML, which is ranked first among all Data Science programmes in the country.

The Praxis Admission Test (PAT) is a nationwide entrance exam administered by Praxis Business School for admission to the Post Graduate Programme in Data Science (PGPDS) with AI and Machine Learning (AIML). The programme is available at the Bengaluru and Kolkata campuses.

Students who have passed other qualifying tests (CAT/XAT/GMAT/GRE) are urged to take the PAT as well. The best of the scores would be taken into account when making a decision.

Students who have achieved the following scores are exempted from PAT:

• CAT/XAT: 80% and above in total and 80% and above in sectional.
• GRE: 320 and above
• GMAT: 650 and above

Praxis January 2021 Data Science Batch Achieves 100% Campus Placement

January 4, 2022: Praxis Business School announced today that its January 2021 Post Graduate Programme in Data Science (PGPDS) with AI & ML batch has received 100% campus placement. This is particularly commendable in light of the Covid issue.

Praxis established the country's first full-time Post-Graduate Data Science programme in 2011, and in the Analytics India Magazine 2021 Post Graduate Data Science Program rankings, Praxis is placed top in the country.

In the PGPDS January 2021 class, a total of 44 students were placed. About 20% of the students in the class were women, who were also recipients of Praxis WiT (Women in Tech) scholarships. Praxis created the WiT scholarships to encourage more women to pursue careers in technology.

Following a strong tradition of recruiters returning each year for placement, there was a solid roster of recruiters making placement offers this year as well.

A student in the Praxis January 2021 PGPDS batch obtained the highest offer of INR 15.77 lakh per annum, while the average remuneration for the batch was an impressive INR 10.19 lakh per annum.

PricewaterhouseCoopers, Genpact, Fractal Analytics, Alumnus Software, Bridgei2i Analytics, The Smart Cube, Giant Eagle Inc, Poonawala FinCorp, and others were among the recruiters.

Students can enrol in Praxis' flagship PGDM programme in Kolkata in July and their PGP in Data Science with AI & ML programme in January and July, respectively, at their Kolkata and Bangalore campuses.

December 10, 2021: Praxis Business School, a renowned university focused on developing future Digital Leaders, is commemorating a Decade of Data Science@Praxis to mark the institution's introduction of the country's first-ever Post-Graduate Program in Business Analytics in 2011.

The Praxis Admission Test (PAT) is a national-level entrance examination for admission to Praxis Business School's Post Graduate Programme in Data Science (PGPDS) with AI and ML. Students who have passed other qualifying tests (CAT/ XAT/ GMAT/ GRE) are urged to take the PAT as well. The best of the scores would be taken into account when making a decision. Praxis Participates in 7th International Conference on Business Analytics and Intelligence

December 12,2019: Praxis Business School participated at the seventh International Conference on Business Analytics and Intelligence organised by Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. Various papers were presented at the event. The first being ‘Attempt to detect fake messages circulating in WhatsApp', which was presented by Assistant Professor, Praxis Business School Gourab Nath. He talked about the Product Feature identification during the presentation.

Other papers presented at the event included ‘A review on imbalanced data techniques: A case study on credit card default prediction’ and ‘Cluster Analysis of Customer Reviews : clustering and summarizing customer reviews for manufacturers to identify customer satisfaction level’.

Praxis Business School Hosts Convocation’19 for Data Science Students

November 2, 2019: Demand for professionals in the field of data science is at an all-time high. The Analytics India Magazine (AIM) conducted a webinar on "How to Start a Career in Data Science" focused on providing aspirants with clarity on how to make their move into the domain. The webinar answered questions related to the field, the excitement surrounding Data Science today if someone wants to be part of this exciting environment, what skills do they need to have, how do they become a Data Scientist, and what is the next step they need to take. The webinar helped people to identify an acceptable route to upskill themselves and make the transition to this area.

HR Conclave on Critical Competencies for Digital HR

September 28, 2019: Praxis Business School organised HR Conclave that aimed at facilitating a platform for discussion around HR practices, issues, and challenges for sustainability in the digital era. The world is heading towards digitalisation, and this is revolutionising our lifestyle in a way we communicate, consume, spend time, and work. A lot of human performed activities have already been taken over by progressively intelligent machines.

Eminent professionals from the HR fraternity were present at the HR Conclave to share their journeys, knowledge and guidance in this exciting domain.

The HR Conclave attempted to create a platform to analyse the implications of this disruption for the human workforce. It also had in-depth discussions on how HR can enable the digital enterprise and explored ways of building skills necessary for the digital world.
