The admissions are entirely entrance-based, and candidates need to pass the respective entrance exam and other selection rounds such as CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, MAH-CET, or PMAT (PIBM's aptitude test) for admission to PIBM Pune. Yes, PIBM Pune accepts MAT scores for admission to its management programs. The institution accepts test scores of CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, and PMAT (PIBM's aptitude test). For the MBA program, it is mandatory to appear in at least one of the above exams. If a student has not appeared for any of the above exams and wishes to apply for PGDM, they have to take the PMAT test, which is an internal entrance exam conducted by PIBM itself

The CAT exam is always conducted on the last Sunday of November every year so the CAT 2024 exam is expected to be conducted on Nov 24, 2024. Official announcement of the CAT 2024 exam date will be made by the convening IIM on Jul 30, 2024. Candidates should score a minimum of 50% to enter into the Pune Institute of Business Management (PIBM) Pune through the PIBM’s Aptitude Test (PMAT) if they have failed to secure better marks in CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ CMAT etc. for PGDM programs. For admissions to MBA programs, candidates need to have at least 50% or above score in the above- mentioned national level entrance tests which will make them eligible to apply. The PMAT is similar to any of the national level aptitude tests consisting questions of quantitative ability, logical reasoning, data interpretation skills and verbal ability. The total marks for the test is 200 and the test mode is online.
