No, direct admission is not possible at PIBM Pune. The institute offers PG level Management courses of MBA & PGDM for a duration of two years. Candidates seeking for admission to these courses have to go through a selection process. PIBM Pune admission is entirely entrance-based. Here, aspirants get two options to qualify for the selection process. They need to either qualify for PIBM's in-house entrance exam or the scores of other national-level entrance exams such as CAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ MAT/ MAH-CET/ PMAT are also accepted by the institute. 

Candidates should score a minimum of 50% to enter into the Pune Institute of Business Management (PIBM) Pune through the PIBM’s Aptitude Test (PMAT) if they have failed to secure better marks in CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ CMAT etc. for PGDM programs. For admissions to MBA programs, candidates need to have at least 50% or above score in the above- mentioned national level entrance tests which will make them eligible to apply. The PMAT is similar to any of the national level aptitude tests consisting questions of quantitative ability, logical reasoning, data interpretation skills and verbal ability. The total marks for the test is 200 and the test mode is online.
