Q:   How is the overall infrastructure of SVNIT Surat?

    A:
    {Source: B.Sc. students & alumni]

SVNIT Surat has a vibrant campus life outside of academic classes, with allowed movements within restricted timings and no dress code restrictions. Sports facilities and additional expenses such as books are available, but students may need to eat out despite mess fees. The college hosts moderately busy events each month, and mess food is of acceptable quality and hygiene. Attendance policies and consequences for rule violations exist, with most students coming from the home state and no reports of discrimination. Academic life is relatively hectic, with practical teaching methods and well-stocked libraries. Security measures include guards and CCTV cameras, and outsiders cannot enter the campus unchecked. The college takes a strict stance against ragging and requires permission to leave hostel premises. All modes of transportation are available from the campus.

Based on the reviews provided, the overall infrastructure of the college is mixed. While some reviewers praised the hostel and mess facilities, others found the infrastructure to be not so modern and lacking in certain amenities. However, most reviewers agreed that the labs were well-equipped and the faculty members were supportive.

Some reviewers noted that the college had good sports facilities, including a badminton court, tennis court and volleyball court, but the playground needed improvement. Others mentioned that the college had a decent library and high-speed Wi-Fi, but the infrastructure of the mess needed to be improved.

Overall, it seems that the college has some strengths in terms of its lab facilities and hostel accommodations, but may need to improve in other areas such as the quality of food in the mess and the maintenance of the playground.

Summary: The infrastructure of the college is mixed, with some strengths in lab facilities and hostel accommodations, but areas for improvement in the quality of food and maintenance of the playground.

SVnit provides whatever you want, such as campus life , placement, and part-time job opportunities.
Placements: Those students who are pursuing integrated MSc in physics basically are not studying for placement; their main focus is research. The average placement is quite low for MSc physics ( it's around 3.5 LPA), and Max package is 9 LPA. So, if you are considering MSc physics for placement purposes, then I will strongly recommend that you don’t come into SVNIT.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is okay , because currently we can see that new buildings and hostels are in running condition. Mess food is quite good , taste is okay. When you arrive for the first time in a hostel, you find the food quite interesting, but later on, as time passes, you get bored by the mess food.
Faculty: Faculty are very helpful and good in behaviour. Currently, the physics department is in renovating condition, so you will find the scrub and other things placed here and there. The boys-girl ratio is okay as we consider it as an engineering college but not good in my class because there are 66 students and only 5 of them are girls.
Other: Surat is located in the porch area of Surat, so you will get whatever you want in the city.

Review of Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat.
Placements: Around 50% of students got placed in the previous batch. The highest salary package offered is 11 LPA. The average salary package offered is 7 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is around 3 LPA - 4 LPA. Most of the students got placed in roles like R&D and analytical chemist. Some students cleared GATE and are pursuing a PhD from top IITs and NITs.
Infrastructure: There is one hostel for all girls named Mother Teresa Bhavan. The infrastructure of the hostel is very good. The mess food is very good. The mess provides a variety of food items daily. We have a night canteen, sports room, and medical facilities. The infrastructure of the M.Sc. department is under construction.
Faculty: Our teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is very good. This course is relevant. Exam papers are moderate to difficult. The passing mark for each paper is 27 marks, and achieving a total of 36 marks, including internal marks, is required to pass each subject.
Other: This course is relatively good for students who want to build their career in the chemistry field.

    My journey in National Institute.
Placements: 1. 80 percent of students are placed in our course. 2. The lowest package is 5 lakhs per year; the average package is 12 lakhs per year; and the highest package is 23 lakhs per year. 3. The recruiting of companies is done according to the path we take; for analysis, we can go to stock markets; for algebra, we can get companies like developments; and for teaching, we may go to the teaching field. 4. The roles offered in my course are mostly about front-end development. 5. The percent of students who got internships from your course is about 79%.
Infrastructure: 1. The faculty members are fully experienced and fully qualified. The classes are so developed and when they come to the labs and workshops, they are very well accompanied with others. When you come to the library, you will find every book on the subject. For more information, there are more books for extra knowledge in the library. 2. The quality of facilities in my hostels is average. The food is not bad and not good at the same time. Medical facilities are good and free of charge. Sports and games are well played in college.
Faculty: 1. The teaching is so good and it is all about knowledge and logic. Teachers give good motivation to students and give all support to students. The teachers were qualified up to PhD's and all are well experienced. 2. This course curriculum is relevant to students; this was good. Yes, it makes the students industry-ready. 3. It is not as hard as we think but we can handle it as a simple thing. Everyone who regularly comes to classes will get at least 7.5 to 10 points. The pass percent is 98%.
Other: I chose this course Mathematics because its all about logic and about critical thinking. The best thing in this course is logic. Mathematics gives logic; every course will have mathematics, but the logic is provided in this course. This campus is under renewal. I wish this renewal gives this college a good look and good comfort in classes and in hostels as well. The events at this college are very good and well organized.

    The college is really good.
Placements: In my course only 49 percent of students were placed this year. The highest package was 20 LPA and the lowest was 3 LPA. The top recruiting company was samsung. Only one student got internship here. The top role was data analyst, ed teach teacher, data researcher.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good although its getting better day by day. Many departments are under construction and more departments are coming in future like B.Teach in mathematical and computing. Wi-Fi speed are very good labs are well maintained and classroom are Air conditioned. I can say that our library is one of the biggest, better than most of the iits.
Faculty: The faculty here are good and very helpful also. Most of the teachers are chil but some are very serious. Most of the teachers are from Ph.D. iits/nits. Course curriculum is average and now thge course has become more relevant from this year. Now the semester exam are of good level, if u start early preparing for them it will be good.
Other: I chose this course because I was getting only this course in better NIT than others. The best things about this course is u have computer Science, blockchain, data Science in this course including mathematics. I wish if NIT Surat renamed this course as mathematics and computing. There are many event like SPARSH, the biggest even of Gujarat it is of 7 seven days and is fully enjoyable. NIT Surat is 3-4 km from airport and 10 km from railway station. Also there is nor fee remission form M.Sc. students but only for B.Teach students, and there are many scholarships u can visit the website. In extra curricular activities there are many sports and also inter NIT competition happens every year.

    Svnit Surat brief review .
Placements: Around forty percent students get placement and others opt for Ph.D. The highest package is 6.4 Lacs, average package is 5.26 Lacs, the lowest package is 3.6 Lacs. In M.Sc. some students go for teaching so Recruiting is done in coaching institute also like aakash institute, byjus learning app, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is not that modern and cool, but still it looks beautiful. Departments have all basic facilities available. You will not face any problem. The Wi-Fi speed is not good sometimes, but when users are less speed is great. But mostly you will have slow speed internet. Labs are having all the required equipment and instrument for the experiment. Faculty members in labs are very supportive. Hostel in first year is average. There are not so much facilities in first year hostel. No lift, no reading room, No Game room, no tv room. But in second to fourth year you will have better hostel. The dinner is mess is best. And lunch is the worst. And breakfast is mostly good. Some of the best items in menu are :- 1. Chhole bhature 2. Paav bhaaji 3. Matar panner 4. Aaloo paratha 5. Poha 6. Samosa 7. Maggi noodles There is also a dispensary for health care. You can get medicine from there for free anytime you have some disease. Sports facilites is also good, you have a badminton court, tennis court, volleyball court, kabbadi ground, cricket ground. But the playground is not maintained properly. Hence no one prefer to play there .
Faculty: Most of the faculty members are good here, they are very supportive, knowledgeable. And they teach very good. But 20 % faculty members are boring to be honest In this course you are going to learn so much about Science, but only if you are hardworking in studies. This course will make students industry ready Most of the subject are easy to pass, if you have studied 2 -3 days properly for the subject you can pass them, but rarely some subject are difficult also, but if you study for 2 - 3 week before you can pass them also. 95 percentage student get passed.

My review of SVNIT is a mixed one. It is a good choice in almost every aspect other than sports.
Placements: The highest and average package offered during SVNIT Surat placements in 2024 stood at INR 52 LPA and INR 10.24 LPA, respectively. The NIT Surat CSE average package offered in 2024 was INR 15.86 LPA. SVNIT recorded 65.47% placements for the B.Tech batch and 59.34% placements for the M.Tech batch in 2024. Definitely, SVNIT is a Tier 1 college. The computer departments at SVNIT have a very strong track record of placement, with many top businesses, like Airtel, Microsoft, Accenture, etc., visiting for interviews. For the 2022 M.Sc. Mathematics batch, the highest package was 20 Lacs and the average was approximately 9 Lacs.
Infrastructure: NITs are among the most esteemed public engineering institutions in India after IITs. They offer high-quality education, distinguished faculty, and an impressive placement record. The institution balances theoretical and practical application. The 100-acre campus at the heart of the city provides state-of-the-art facilities, laboratories, libraries, and research facilities, with opportunities to engage in different clubs and organizations. Sparsh is the annual cultural fest, and Mindbend is the annual techno-managerial IT fest. Hostel facilities are on par with others, equipped with all basic amenities like furniture, internet, sports facilities in the hostel common room, and television. Mess food is provided in all hostels, and quality control is done regularly.
Faculty: I want to study one core subject, like Chemistry. It is relatively easy. Exams are conducted in two ways: one is mid-semester, which is held after 2 months of the semester start and is worth 30 marks, and the other is end-semester, held at the end of the semester, worth 50 marks, with 20 marks for internal assessments like quizzes and assignments.
