Post Graduate Programme in Editing - Batch of 2013
5
5Placements5Infrastructure5Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life
This was a good place to learn film making.
Placements: Students from SRFTI are working in films and AD films. Most of the students of my batch are working as an independent and freelancer editor, director, cameraman, and sound recordist. The pay scale varies from project to project. If someone is working on a big budget film, they get a handsome amount of money.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities available in the college were good. SRFTI campus spread over 50-acres. The campus atmosphere was beautiful, and it was suited for the film and television study. The classrooms were designed to encourage close interaction between student and faculty. The library had a diverse collection of books and films. The hostel was a 5-min walk from the college, and there were separate boys and girls wings in the college.
Faculty: Faculty members of SRFTI taught us to look at film history, a great range of contemporary and classic work, in varying critical context. They emphasise on both theoretical and practicals for the development of students' vision for storytelling. In film exercise, students shoot their own script and direct in their way. Students continuously learn from each other.

Post Graduate Programme in Sound Recording and Design - Batch of 2025

About SRFTI, one of the best film schools in India.
Placements: Currently, SRFTI doesn't offer any campus placement for their students, but this can happen in the future. There are proposals related to this happening, from the student union to the administration. The majority of the students in the sound department have been working in various fields, both in location recording and post-production.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is decent. There is a Wi-Fi connection as well as a LAN connection in hostels and departments. In addition to this, there are Internet room facilities for students. The library is open throughout the week, except on public holidays. The library is not open around the clock, but it is usually open until 8 p.m. on most days. You have access to the audiovisual library as well. Studios and classrooms are good.
Faculty: For the first two semesters, you will have written exams as well as practical and project exams. In the third semester, some departments will also have written exams but mostly your marks will depend on practical. From the fourth semester on, the evaluation is based on the projects, which includes a mise en scène project, short film project, a documentary, and Diploma project. Faculty members are well trained and most of them have good experience in their departments .
Other: The course structure will help you get a hold of all the stages of filmmaking. Pre-production, post-production, and production. There will be various workshops with the experts in each industry.
