Q:   What is the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.Com programs at School of Business?

    A:
    {Source: B.Com students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.Com Programs at School of Business

Based on student reviews and feedback, here's an overview of the placement cell's performance:

Placement Rate: The college ensures full placements for students who clear all their courses, with a majority of companies hiring for marketing and sales profiles. However, placements for finance majors are relatively lower.

Average Salary Package: The average salary package offered by companies is between INR2-3 Lakhs Per Annum (LPA), while the highest package reached up to INR4 LPA.

Internship Opportunities: While the college claims to provide 100% placements, it appears that internship opportunities are limited.

Placements Department: Some students reported delays and inefficiencies within the placements department, citing that only two students got placed in five months.

Specializations: Marketing students seem to have more options, whereas finance majors face challenges finding suitable placements.

Guidance: Unfortunately, there seems to be minimal guidance and support for students navigating the placement process, with some students claiming that the faculty doesn't provide adequate assistance.

Overall, while the college boasts a high placement rate, it seems that the placement cell could improve its efficiency, particularly in terms of providing equal opportunities across various specializations and offering more substantial internships.

Review of School of Business, Sushant University.
Placements: Only 5% of students from our course get placed. The highest salary package offered ranges from 4-4.5 LPa. There is no guidance for placements. There is no proper placement committee at the campus. In the starting, they provide a lot of attention to the students and make some fake promises that they will provide full support, but that is not in the end.
Infrastructure: The canteen is average but not that good. There are 4-5 canteens, but they do not open them properly. The service is very bad as they have limited staff members. The whole university cannot be attended by some limited staff members.
Faculty: The examinations conducted are brilliant. They properly give an admit card to everyone to make sure that the student is not using any unfair material or students are not cheating in the examination hall. It properly takes care of the exam conducted in the shifts. There are generally 2 shifts, morning and evening shifts. Very expensive semesters are not a very difficult part, but the attendance part is a bit difficult.
Other: The college provides few opportunities for fests and extracurricular activities. They just try to conduct events or sports and games. It does not invite other colleges for events.

I am satisfied with average placements, good infrastructure, and best faculty members.
Placements: There are good placements earlier but after the changes came into the faculty everything changed. The new placements department works very slow, as only 2 students get placed in 5 months. They mostly offer an average salary range from 6 LPA - 9 LPA, which concludes some good companies and startups.
Infrastructure: There is good infrastructure, and it always focuses on improving infrastructure. They currently have a good sports area, and hostel area which is one of the best parts of their infrastructure. There is a total of three canteens, the main canteen gives average, and the other give good quality of food.
Faculty: Faculty members have a good experience. Every professor is very friendly and helpful. They always help students to focus on their future goals. If any students face problems during or after the curriculum which can be either out of syllabus or inside the syllabus faculty members are always there to help.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the placements. But the infrastructure and facilities were good.
Placements: In our course, there were 12 students which was less because our batch was coronavirus’ batch. Out of 12 students, hardly 4 got placed. The highest package offered was 4 LPA. They got 80% in the semesters. 2 got placed in NTT Data and 2 in Infosys. I am not satisfied with the placements.
Infrastructure: In our college, the faculty was top notch, no doubt, they were highly educated. Most of them were experts in their subjects. Wi-Fi was not there in the campus, other than that, AC, labs, classrooms, and playground were all good. The campus is good and the building is kept clean.
Faculty: The teachers were well qualified and highly knowledgeable. They helped the students pass the exams. The course curriculum was relevant. It made us ready for the real industry. Exams difficulty level was okay, neither too hard nor too easy. If you are well prepared, it will be easy for you to pass the exams.
Other: I had commerce in my 12th and was interested in finance and wanted to work in the banking sector which is why I joined this course. The college was good in terms of fest.

I am absolutely satisfied because of faculty members and other facilities provided by our college.
Placements: Placements are pretty good in our college, and internship opportunities are also fine. The maximum number of students got internships, and the faculty members tried their best to make every student get placed. I am satisfied with the placements. Summer internships are offered by firms like Bridge Group Solutions, The Capital Box, Royal Sundaram and Decode Careers.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our campus is good, and there is one central library in the reception building. Many schools have a library in their own building. Sushant School of Business has an auditorium where many events, workshops and guest lectures are organised. Hostels are kind of strict as there are restrictions like students should not enter into the hostel after 8 pm or 9 pm.
Faculty: Teachers here are amazing in teaching and are very supportive, and you can approach them whenever you have any doubt. All the teachers are very helpful. The course curriculum is also very well designed. Many guest lectures and industrial visits are organised for the students, which are very interesting and highly knowledge-oriented.

I'm dissatisfied from the campus rules and regulation.
Placements: According to the prospectus what I had seen, the university is not capable of giving the right placement. They should improve placement management. Internships founded by the campus are below average. Internship offers awards and certificates to the student and stipend also, but later on, no stipend was given.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is above average. The food served in the canteen is not up to the mark. The ground is small. Grounds are not good for students to play favourable games. Many times electricity fall down on campus. There are unnecessary fines charges from the student on behalf of the library.
Faculty: Our college offers various courses, but teaching plan and quality of education provided by the faculty members are not up to the mark. The timings for classes are very poor and senseless. One teacher offers 2 different subjects. They do not give any assignment which is relatable to the course.
Other: I chose B.Com course because I want to enter the corporate world in future. The course needs more practical knowledge rather than doing theoretical work. The scholarship provided to students is not genuine, even they are not rewarded according to their performance.

It is great, clean and beautiful campus. You will enjoy here along with studies.
Placements: The college provides average placements as well internships for students to gain corporate exposure. They have many options for marketing students. They have very less companies for finance. I got placed in one of the startups with an average package.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good. All the Cafeterias provide quality food. There are many sports competitions being held in college. They have different clubs. Inter-college competitions are also being held in the college. All the classrooms are air-conditioned.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified enough with Ph.D. degrees. They are student friendly and have well behaviour. One can easily get their opinions on any topic & solve any type of queries. They have immense knowledge to share amongst students. They are always ready to help.
