On Fees and Eligibility

Q:   How is CGPA calculated in School of Engineering and Technology, CMR University?

A:
In the CGPA system, grades are allotted for a specific bracket of marks. For instance, 90-95 marks bracket is allotted to grade A. On the basis of the grade points, the total aggregate is calculated. This means that all your grades are combined together and then they are divided by the total subjects that you undertook in that semester Engineering students can also convert CGPA to percentage, CPI to percentage and CGPA to marks to get clarity. CGPA = Sum of total GPA in all Semesters/Total Number of Credit Hours.

Q:   What will happen if someone misses the internal exam in School of Engineering and Technology, CMR University?

A:

If someone missed their internal assessment they need to give a valid reason of his/her absence. Faculty conducts a makeup exam to evaluate the missing components and will be evaluated with little reduction in weightage. Suppose you miss a component of 20 percent then during makeup exam it would be considered as 15 percent and you would lose 5 percent weightage as penalty. Nothing to worry about that, if someone misses the internals then we can request the subject teacher or HOD with the Valid reason also.

Is CMRU really worth it!
Placements: The placement rate is not definitely 100% as the college claims. Only a few get through and as I have heard from a few seniors, in VII semester, only 3 were placed in not so notable companies. The highest package is 12 LPA and bare minimum is 2 LPA in the campus.
Infrastructure: The college does not give access to Wi-Fi in campus. It is only for the faculty members and there will be no mobile signal consistency. Classrooms have digital boards and proper ventilation in all the classrooms. Canteen's food is decent and good enough for the price we pay but there is no variety. We feel odd eating same thing all the time.
Faculty: The teachers don't seem knowledgeable and qualified. They just don't know how to express their knowledge. They just end up reading the ppts and providing important questions. Course curriculum does not feel relatable. Mechanics, civil, electronics and some other subjects do not feel relatable.
Other: I wanted to do B.Tech from a decent college, but I have realized that all the colleges are just the same wherein we have to learn mostly by ourselves. There are no notable fests like other colleges, but small events take place on random festive days.

CMRU is not a right choice for learners with true intent.
Placements: The college does not conduct major placement drives as it claims. The companies that visit are not well-known or recognized, and only 2-3 students get placed. The banners claiming students are placed are true but mostly refer to MBA students, not B.Tech. It seems like a marketing gimmick. There are no internship opportunities provided by the college, but they encourage and support students who try to find internships externally. Notable companies that visit occasionally include Byju's, IBM, and Wipro (as far as I can recall). Pre-placement sessions are conducted for skill enhancement, but they are not very efficient or effective.
Infrastructure: The hygiene of the campus is well-maintained with no complaints in that regard. The classrooms are equipped with smart boards for digital learning. Practical labs like Physics and Chemistry are well-stocked with necessary equipment. However, there is no Wi-Fi facility available on the campus for students, except in the hostels. Hostel food is manageable, though not always commendable. The library is well-equipped with course-related books and has a spacious, organized reading area. The computer labs operate on Ubuntu OS, making learning interactive and unique. The campus canteen has three mini outlets offering affordable and decently good food. There is also a clinic with an ambulance for emergencies. The sports facilities include a cricket stadium, basketball and football grounds, and some indoor sports options, though no major events are organized. A gym is also available for students.
Faculty: Only a few teachers seem fully capable of teaching the course content effectively. Most appear to simply read from the PPTs during lectures. The course curriculum is outdated, including many irrelevant subjects that hinder students from staying updated with current trends. Exams are generally easy as IMP questions are provided before internals and semester exams, which makes students happy but limits deeper learning.
Other: There are no major events like those in big colleges—no celebrities or late-night DJ parties. Events are small-scale. I chose this course due to my interest in computers but have dealt with more electronics than computer-related topics so far. I wish the curriculum was more industry-relevant. The best thing about the course is that they provide everything needed to pass. The campus is located in an isolated area, and you need to walk about 1 km to reach a residential area.

Absolutely it's satisfying .
Placements: 70% of students are placed in the our course, the highest package is 12 Lacs and the lowest is 4 LPA in our course, top requirement companies are Amazon, Infosys and Wipro, 50% percent of students got internship in our course data analyst and data scientist and other .
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facilities are very poor in our classroom but in labs will get Wi-Fi and lab library facilities are very good, the hostel facilities are not that much good food is average it seems sports facilities are good cricket ground is very good infrastructure .
Faculty: The CMR teachers are not that much good because they all are guest teachers but teaching is good yes this course curriculum relevant, it not make a students industry ready the semester exam are difficult evaluation is based on the teachers they will strictly evaluate .
Other: I took a because of scope in this field .

Infrastructure is good and even we can use it
Placements: Nearly 70-80 percentage of the students are placed. Roles are offered good as we heard from seniors. As I heard from our professor the highest pack was of 21 lakhs and lowest was of 3 lakhs and the average packages are of 7 to 9 lakhs per annum.
Infrastructure: Labs are good , classrooms are good but no wifi facility will be provided, you can stay in library and can access it without any additional fees you can even access gym. Labs have wifi you can use it but no personal wifi will be provided. Hostel is good with good canteen.
Faculty: Facilities are actually good. They are supportive. No unwanted curriculum in the college. The teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is not bad. The course is relevant and I think it may make us industry ready but as our hard too depends. The semester exams are difficult but nearly 90 to 95 percentage of students get passed.
Other: Fests are conducted but not frequently I mean once in semester.

School of Engineering and Technology, CMR University review.
Placements: Two-thirds of the students are getting placed, which is a good number. The top recruiter is an all-state company, and the average package is 5 lacs. The highest package is 35 lacs, and as time goes on, goes on more and more students are getting higher packages. This college is also good for skill enhancement.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure in the hostel is quite good, with Wi-Fi and a library. However, the students living in the hostel are very rude. The food quality is good, but the mess is not clean, and there is a lack of sporting equipment. Also, there is a problem with the water that is causing my hair to fall out.
Faculty: The teachers are very supportive and the courses are to the point. The average pass percentage at semester end is 90. Moreover, they have digital classes, which really unskilled the students towards learning more and gaining more knowledge. It is a decent college with a decent prize.
Other: I love teaching, and that's the main reason I chose this course. However, the fests and events are quite average, and they don't provide any kind of refreshment for any of the events.

The infrastructure is good, but traveling might get difficult.
Placements: Like the placements are average, but they depend on the students' efforts to secure a job. Equal effort is essential, as the previous batch achieved placements with an average package of 18 lakhs. The college provides soft skills training and other internship-boosting lessons to improve our communication skills as well.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi does not work and is not available for students, and network connectivity is poor due to the remote location. The classrooms are equipped with smart boards and projectors, and the hostel food is improving and satisfactory. Sports and games facilities are available.
Faculty: The faculty is mixed; some members are good and supportive, while others may not be as clear in their teaching. However, if we ask questions, they will provide answers and help us understand the concepts well. Semester exams are above average in difficulty, and they do help make us industry-ready to some extent.
Other: Events happen frequently, and scholarships are available for students on payment seats.
