I think it is the best college for hotel management in India.
Placements: The placements are good. We get placements from abroad also like from Malaysia. Recently our junior got chance to do their internship in Malaysia in Kolhapur. We also get campus placements from international properties like Ritz-Carlton, Shangri-La, Hyatt Leela etc.
Infrastructure: Our university campus is very big but our college will be outside of the university, but our new college is now under construction. The owner of our college is planning to make our college like hotel and college where guests can come and have food. The student will get real hotel life experience in the college.
Faculty: We have well-experienced faculty in our college. They help us to build up our confidence to stand in front of the high profile guests also. They also teach us about the latest news related to the subjects, and they keep on updating us. Every Saturday, they conduct a special class to develop our communication, and they also conduct sign language classes for us, if in future if we will get interact with physical disabilities. If the guests cannot speak and listen, then those classes will be helpful.
Other: In our college, events are taken place on a regular basis like symposium. In this event, all hospitality industries HODS, come and discuss what new things are coming up in the state, and they also ask us to what all new things can be done to increase or attract guest towards us.

It is a college, which is more than a family. A student can enhance inner ability, which helps him.
Placements: The placement selection in our college is fine, and our college only deals with bigger chain properties like Taj, Hyatt, Mariott, etc. Now, our students have an opportunity to do an internship abroad. In Odisha, the only school of hotel management gives chances in the bigger properties.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure system is moderate. We have Wi-Fi, A/C classrooms, medical facility, library, and an auditorium. But due to unavailability of land, we don't have a larger campus. But there is a scope for performing in many indoor and outdoor games organised by our university.
Faculty: Our faculty members are highly experienced and highly educated in their fields. Some of them are doing their doctorates in a particular field. They amaze us with their way of teaching skills. They give us chances to grow up in every field, so a strong bond between student and teacher establish.
Other: Our college is well-known for organising Mexican food festival and Pakhala food festival. Our college participates in many events, which is organised by NGO. As our college is a hospitality college, so we emphasize maintenance and cleanliness. Totally, A/C classrooms with a regular practical hub.

SHM is one of the best hospitality & tourism management colleges in Eastern India.
Placements: Placements in our college were very good. As School of Hotel Management under Siksha 'O' Anusandhan (Deemed to be University) is one of the most reputed hotel management colleges in eastern India. Many hotels give us the first preference to conduct interviews. Most of hotels and companies visited our college for placements. Salary packages offered by hotels and some retail companies were decent. The placement rate of college has never been below 90%. Almost everyone who wants a job gets placed depending upon their capabilities and grades. The average salary offered in our college till date is around Rs. 25,000 per month. Top recruiting companies of our course are Taj, Oberoi, ITC, JW Marriott, Hyatt, Reliance and IHG Hotel. Top role offered is as a management trainee, operational trainee and a kitchen trainee.
Infrastructure: There was enough space for 50 - 60 students in the classrooms. A good number of computers were available to enable one student to seat on one machine for learning. The college had all the necessities like Wi-Fi, air-conditioned classrooms and computer labs. All the classrooms also had audiovisual facilities. There were three different kitchens available for students of the first year, second year, third year and fourth year. Other co-curricular activities were held regularly on the campus.
Faculty: Faculty members in every department were highly qualified with good experience in the industry and were very good. The course was not very difficult, but you need to work a little harder to clear the practicals. Faculty members help you to clear these practicals easily if you go to college regularly. They conducted practical tests daily in classrooms, and those marks were added to the final marks. The dean sir of our college was very helpful and concerned. Most of the teachers taught with the help of PPTs. We had a 06 months industrial training period in which students were exposed to the real-world scenarios of the hotel industry. Students were sent to various 5-star hotels for training, which was compulsory.
Other: A food festival was held every year. It was a food and trade fest in which students set up stalls for foods of various cuisines. We had students from various parts of the country, so we got to know about diverse cultures. Various sports tournaments were also held by college throughout the year.
