B.Sc. biocomputing in Vels.
Placements: Placements are not provided for this course. It is a rapidly growing field.
Infrastructure: We have a computer lab, with all the necessary software, for our research and projects. The hostel is alright but it’s very expensive. Projects and research papers help the students to learn more about the field. Sports and games are not given much importance in this college.
Faculty: All the teachers are Ph.D. holders. The semester exams are not so difficult. I would not recommend this course, because of the lack of placements.
Other: I chose this course, because of the group I took in my 12th standard, which was biology-computer. I am interested in genetics and computers, so I took this course.

It provides good placements for college and the best for academics.
Placements: Placements are good but they should increase their percentage of placements in the upcoming years. The highest salary package offered is 7 LPA, and the average salary package offered is 5 LPA. Recruiting companies are Cognizant, IBM, Infosys, HCL, etc. They are making their best effort to get internships for students.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure of this college are good. Wi-Fi is good with neat classrooms. Library with 300 books and resources are available. Hostel facilities and infrastructure are good. Canteen and mess food are in acceptable taste. Students have games like football, volleyball, cricket, etc.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and they aim to teach students every concept neat and clear. They guide and advise about various other opportunities apart from academics. Course curriculum is up to today's technology hence, it is relevant for the students to get ready for industry. Monthly exams are conducted so it is easy to score well in semester exams.
Other: I opted for this course, because of my interest in biology since my childhood. My ambition is to become a scientist so that I can able to discover medicines for newly occurring diseases in future. Weekly events are conducted for the relaxation of students.

Review of School of Life Sciences, VELS Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies.
Placements: The college provides placements for 20 or more students in a batch. I am pursuing the first year. I have asked seniors and staves about this, and they told that if we score more than 60% in university exams, we will get placed. Overall, we can surely get placed here.
Infrastructure: Our college is near to the Pallavaram railway station, and students can easily travel. Our library is amazing because it has a huge collection of books and there is also a digital library. All the labs are available here. Sports meet is fine every year. The air-conditioning facility is good.
Faculty: Our lectures are greatly helpful. They not only teaching us subjects but they make us learn everything. They are providing a lot of knowledge. There are certain things to learn, and those can be only taught by them. Their way of teaching is good.
Other: The college organises Nakshatra event.

It is one of the best colleges in Chennai.
Placements: Our college does not provide good placement facilities. The salary offered is between Rs. 8,000 per month and Rs.10,000 per month. Small companies visit our college to recruit students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. The hostel facility is available in our college. The food served in the hostel and canteen is not good. They provide a variety of food items but the taste is not good. The hostel facilities are not good. I would recommend joining the PG.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful. Their teaching quality is good. A few teachers are not good. Teachers give their best to teach us. Non-teaching staff members are good and helpful. They take care of each student very well.
Other: Events were held in our college. They conduct events and choose a particular department to watch an event executed by other departments.
