Our college has good infrastructure, good placements and internships were offered in 2019.
Placements: Placements in our college were good, and even for our seniors batch also, most of them got placed in reputed corporate companies. This year, the highest package was offered to the BE course students and around 13 Lacs per year, and the average package was around 5 LPA. Most of the BE students got placed in good companies, but for the MA students, there were few opportunities, but still, we have used at most of the extent. Many companies, like TCS, Mindtree, NetCrackers, HID, Societe general, etc., visited our college. Most of the roles offered to the students like software engineering trainee, associates, software testing roles, etc.. Most of the MA students got internships in reputed companies like HID, Societe general, Fiserv, etc. The highest stipend offered was 25,000 per month during the 6-month internship. Our MA department HOD Dr MA Jayaram sir was very supportive for providing the internships to the MA final semester students. Almost every student got internships. Our college has separate placement cell exclusive for SIT students, and our placement department was very supportive in providing job opportunities for the students.
Infrastructure: Our college was spread over 65 acres of land, and it has the best infrastructure with outdoor sports facilities like cricket, football, etc., It has the best classrooms with good projectors in every class. Every department has a well-known seminar hall and a separate library. It also has one huge general library for all the students, and this library will be opened for 24 hours. Our college has the best canteen where good quality food is provided to the students, and the cost of the food is reasonable. It has separate hostels for girls and boys. Our college provides the best infrastructure for the students, which is not provided by any other colleges in Tumkur.
Faculty: Our MCA department has the best and knowledgeable faculty members. Almost every teacher has done with their Doctorate degree, and their way of teaching to the students was excellent. Every faculty member clears our doubts in a magnificent way, and they were very supportive in every field. Because of Our teachers, I got an internship in a well-known company Fiserv. Our department has 10 faculty members for around 50 students in one semester, and there is an efficient industry exposure to the students in our department. I strongly suggest doing your masters in our college.
Other: All the students were getting scholarships around 30,000 to 35,000 per year. Our college organises Halcyon fest every year, and our department organises summer fest for the computer stream students.

SIT - A collection of opportunities for learners.
Placements: SIT placement cell is organized in such a way that it helps students to get into corporate world very easily. Every year, they conduct a student awareness programme by name "Campus 2 Corporate". In this programme entrepreneurs from different corporate fields addresses all upcoming professionals and provide their guidance by sharing their experiences. I think this gives a gist to all students who are very new to corporate world. Additionally, placement cell takes the responsibility of training all the students by introducing "Soft skills" and "Aptitude related Analytical skills" subjects into their academics curriculum and is made as mandatory. Necessary training is also provided for these subjects from experts oftenly. Furthermore, many esteemed MNCs like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Societe General, etc. Visits our campus every year and recruit almost 75% of freshers. Thus, SIT placement cell bestows a furnished path for all the students to frame their career successfully.
Infrastructure: SIT is a institute raised under the hands of Sree Dr. Shivakumara swamigalu, Sri Siddaganga Mutt, Tumkur. It is in midst of vast 65 acres land surrounded by greeneries. This wide campus provide almost all the infrastructure needed for students. Cool campus, Sports essentials, library, canteen, separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, equipped classrooms, Seminar halls and many more provides students a sophisticated environment for learning.
Faculty: Poojya Sree Dr. Shivakumara swamigalu and corresponding management team of SIT has taken care in every aspect of development of SIT and mainly in faculty selection. Specifically, MCA department constitutes faculty members who are well experienced, well educated and kind hearted, who always support students through their way. MCA Course curriculum is neatly organised as both lateral and regular course. Separate teaching is provided for lateral students who arrive late. Every year syllabus are revised as per streaming technologies with a neat plan. Also, various semniars, technical talks are organized at department level which allows students to update their skill sets.

It's a good place to build our career.
Placements: Many students get placed in the placement process, and more than 100 companies visited the campus this year. A good number of companies visited the college to hire MCA students when compared to BE students. All the faculty members put their efforts to provide internship opportunities to all the students.
Infrastructure: SIT is spread across 50 acres of land. SIT is a beautiful place for environment lovers. There is greenery all around the campus. SIT is surrounded by many trees. Safety is the initial priority of the college. We can always see some security guards roaming around the campus. All the laboratories are well-equipped and have access to high-speed internet. SIT supports other activities like sports etc.
Faculty: The faculty members of the MCA department are excellent, and they are friendly. All the faculty members of the MCA department are skilled, and many of them are qualified with PhD. Students can approach faculty anytime to solve their doubts regarding the subjects and technology. The college organises many workshops to improve the skill-set of the students.

Why to prefer for MCA in SIT?
Placements: Better placement opportunities for the eligible candidates. 65% through is required for any stream to get placement opportunities. It's better if placement's officer give equal importance to all the streams. MCA Department has given it's best to it's students.
Infrastructure: MCA Department does have simple infrastructure located at the ground floor of architecture building, having basic amenities. Also has three computer lab for students who can have access to the lab anytime they want. Department has separate library which any MCA students can use.
Faculty: Faculty is very good. Most of the faculty is Ph.D. holders and have better teaching skills. Course curriculum is mostly based on VTU. Since the college is autonomous, question paper is set and answere papers are valued by the college itself. Difficulty level compared to VTU is a bit high in autonomous, but, we can improve yourself with the surprise quizzes.
Other: Separate department fest called BROWSE and annual college fest called HALCYON. Exciting events.

Best to happen in student Life.
Placements: Placement is good. HOD sir will help students to get in internship and provide to do project in IT companies. So students will get real time experience with IT company. So many students joining MCA course will have less percentage in PUC. So many companies will come but not eligibility. Due to HOD sir will create list of resume and send it to IT companies and provide internship to students.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. We have good campus and class room environment. We have digital library. Labs are good with high configured systems and update software. Even we have department library which helps to student for advanced technologies. Department will conclude technical talk by IT experts.
Faculty: Faculty is good. HOD sir is excellent about subject knowledge. They are Ph.D. lectures. Even some lectures teaches with blackboard and some will teach with overhead projector. In department provide to do real time project and help in publish article for international journals.

Best thing to happen in my student life.
Placements: We have dedicated department for placement and training, which is always good. However, we received less help from them as most of the companies they invited wanted to hire engineering students and not MCA graduates. Thanks to the effort of our HOD and faculty members most of my classmates were able to clasp (paid/unpaid) internship during our final semester in different companies. Most of us were also given permanent job offers!
Infrastructure: Most of the campus is covered with trees and plants which is very soothing. Every department has Wi-Fi connectivity. Labs are well-equipped and maintained with necessary software's and high-speed internet. We also have access to paid research papers such as IEEE and other journals from lab.
Faculty: We had highly experienced, very knowledgeable and wiling to help teaching staff. Course needs little update to include subjects on emerging technologies. Other than regular curriculum talks from the industry experts and alumnus are organised to keep us abreast with the industry.
Other: I joined college through management quota, PGCET seat was not allotted to me due to my bad ranking in CET. From day one I was amazed by infrastructure and atmosphere of the college. 3 years in SIT thought me many lessons that are part of my life now. I was able to get internship and job offer in the same company during my 6th semester. Today is my first day at job, thus taking time to thank SIT for all it has done to me.
