Bharati Vidyapeeth Social Sciences Centre, also known as Social Sciences Centre (MSW), Pune, is a constituent centre of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University (BVDU) Pune. It is accredited with an “A” Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Presently, the Centre offers MSW and MPhil programmes in several specialisations. The programmes offered by the Centre are recognised by the Directorate of Social Welfare and Government of Maharashtra. It has a total of 11 faculty members.

MSW Course
- Admission to MSW is based on a Common Entrance Test, conducted by the Centre

MPhil Course
- Admission to MPhil is based on an Entrance Test, conducted by BVDU Pune
- A student must have passed post-graduation to apply for MPhil programme
Bharati Vidyapeeth Social Sciences Centre MSW Admission 2021
At the PG level, the Centre offers a Master of Social Work (MSW) programme in three different specialisations. The duration of the programme is two years, which is divided into four semesters. The programme has a total intake of 60 students. Family and Child Welfare specialisation help students to develop a critical understanding of the issues related to the family, women and children challenged persons. Urban and Rural Community Development specialisation offers an education that equips students with knowledge about developmental areas concerned with rural and urban communities. Personnel Management and Industrial Relations specialisation offer intensive learning in labour welfare, Human Resource Management and Organisational Development. Admission to MSW is entrance-based. The final selection of students is based on the entrance test scores and their performance in Group Discussion (GD) & Personal Interview (PI). Apart from the PG course, the Centre also offers MPhil programme with a duration of one and a half years. The seat intake of this programme is 20 students. Admission to MPhil programme is entrance-based. Candidates are shortlisted based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam. Eligibility criteria for the same is as follows:
