It was a second home for me. I loved being a part of the institution

Placements: I got placed in CTS and loved to be a part of this college. Placements can be improved. The highest package was 4.5 lakhs and the average was 1.8 lakhs. Including IT, many core companies came for placements. The placement percentage was 65 which was good for the market scenario that time.

JIS is the place to be for a postgraduate

Placements: Lots of companies come for placements but mainly for the computer science background. Very few core companies come. Major recruiters are mainly TCS and other IT-sector companies but all the students are well-placed either on-campus or off-campus. The highest package was given by TCS at 3.56 lacs for a MTech student and 3.26 lacs for a BTech student.

Dissatisfied because of poor placements.

Placements: Placement in our stream is very poor. No core company only IT companies recruited us and that also through pool campusing. Only about 20% of students got recruited from our branch with avg salary of 2.5 lpa. The college is now sending mails related to BPO jobs only with quite low packages. Another drawback is that in Kolkata there is hardly any automotive market so pursuing automobile engineering from this college didn't turn out fruitful.

The true view of Dr. Sudhir Chandra Sur Degree Engineering College.

Placements: This year in CSE, there were 24 placements out of 60 as per the college site. I don't know about the highest but the average salary offered was 5 lacs per annum. Tech Mahindra, Wipro, Infosys, Oracle, IBM, etc visited. I don't know about the kind of roles were offered to students. 33% of students got internships from the college.

Overall the college has a great team of quality teachers who can show you the path to success!

Placements: Placement is average. If you score well in your semesters, you are eligible to get a good job. It all depends on the student's academics. Students with an 80% of average results are getting jobs from TCS, IBM, Sony Erricson, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra and many other companies. The internship may not be given from the college directly, but you can apply yourself for internships. Students with poor academic results could also get jobs from various BPSs and BPOs. ...

Students aspiring for core engineering, do not take admission here.

Placements: There is no enough placements in this college.only 20-30% students gets placed from campus placements. Most of the time, the salaries offered by the visiting companies are too low. Only one big company comes and that too an IT company named Tech Mahindra. There is no scope of mechanical engineers from this college.

Unstable faculty, good infrastructure, good facilities, okay placements and well connected routes.

Placements: Most of the students got placed, while some went for higher studies. Most companies were from the IT hub, but few were for core streams. Mentioning a few, Ashok Leyland, TCS, GENPACT, etc. Salary package varies a lot from 1.8 LPA to 3.5 LPA depending on the company

Partially satisfied through the acquired knowledge but the placement is dissatisfying

Placements: The placements were not quite justified as much and have not been provided. Nearly 6-10 % of the whole batch got placed, and they were mainly offered the salary in the range of 10000 to 15000. Companies like Shapoorji Pallonji, Real Tech Nirman, and Simplex Infrastructures have visited, and we were offered the job designation of Graduate Engineer Trainee. None of the students has actually got any stipend or internship here.

A review about my college

Placements: The placements were sufficiently there but as the first batch of Civil Engineering, we did not receive any such core-related placements. The placement percentage was overall quite good, but specifically, in the core departments i.e. electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and civil engineering, we did not receive such opportunities. In our department, among 80 students, the placed students' percentage was maximum 1%, the number is 8. Hence, they failed to arrange any decent campus interv...

Bad college, facility, placement, faculty.

Placements: I am a final year EE student. My college gives us very poor placement from some unknown companies and some known companies. But only 2 or 3 students were selected and offered BPO or sales job. The average salary was Rs. 8-10 thousand per month. 2 people were selected by one company and they offered Rs. 50000 per month but it was also in sales. There was no job in core.

Very good Infrastructure and very bad faculty. Campus location is awesome. Lab is extremely advanced specially Automobile and CNC lab is remarkable. Best stream is Mechanical Engineering Department and worst is Electronics and Communication Engineering Department. The job probility is very sound for both Automobile and Mechanical Engineering Department.

A part of the JIS group, the college is located about 20 mins from the Kolkata airport and is very much in the hub of the city. Although it is the newest addition to the JIS group, it goes through centralized placement system with all the other JIS colleges like NIT, GNIT, JIS Kalyani and others. Thus, it is able to provide decent placement opportunities, although certainly not among the best. The big companies visiting the campus are the likes of ITC Infotech, Tech Mahindra, TCS, Kovair softw...

The College’s Infrastructure is good as well as faculty. In our time most of the students got placement from off-campus drive but from the next batch onwards, people got good placements through on-campus placements arranged by placement cell. The college provides a good library with almost all the top books in every stream. Yearly festival named Metapsyconix is generally held on March or April every year.
