Placements: Placements were for all the students but many student went for higher studies and other opted placement. They didn't gave much option to the students. Very limited companies were there in placement. In a media field a person doesn't get much stipend in beginning but later will experience salary increases on the basis of the experience.
Placements: I didn't choose to sit for placement because of the rules it implies. I vividly remember that placement for batch 2016 was pretty decent since they got placed on the web as it was booming at that time. Even we have had incoming opportunities from the web, but it is difficult to get into films. It is more of a profession than a job. Though the placement is not that great, my seniors applied externally and are working in advertising, web, newspapers and some even in films.
Placements: Journalism and Audio Visual had really bad placements. It was mainly by contacts. Advertising batch had a comparative better placement. Internships were pretty much the same issue, except it was based on merit which wasn't the best method. Google visited for recruitment.
