On Fees and Eligibility

Q:   Can I get Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences, Pune, MBA with a 56 percentile in SNAP?

A:

Although admission to a healthcare administration MBA programme is possible with a SNAP score in the 56 percentile, getting into SIHS Pune may be more difficult. Historical patterns indicate that the late 60s or early 70s in SNAP are usually the starting point for their competitive program. But hold onto your hope! Beyond scores, your entire profile is outstanding. Perfect your communication abilities, highlight your academic achievements and any relevant professional experience, and do well in the rounds of group discussions and personal interviews. Recall that your the strongest suits may be preparedness and passion. Examine previous deadlines, polish your application, and look at other colleges that would be a good fit for your goals and SNAP score. Leadership in healthcare is waiting for you if you embrace the adventure, work hard to prepare, and have faith in your abilities.

Review of Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences, Symbiosis International, Pune.
Placements: Placements are not given for B.Sc students. Placements are only given for master's students and those who have experience in the field at least 2-4 years before joining the college. You can have an opportunity of joining high-quality companies from this course.
Infrastructure: The outline of the course needs improvement as we require to learn more than what is given. We require a good base regarding the specialisations they offer, which is not cleared by them. Giving an observation ship was not enough.
Faculty: Faculty members are not functional, and they keep delaying internal exams. All faculty members are busy building their own careers, and no one cares about taking lectures except a few who are serious about their work. Exams are taken online due to covid, and it is a monitored exam which is good. Clearing courses is easy as long as you attend the lectures.
Other: I have chosen the course because I did not have any other choice at that time. My family suggested studying something related to medicine, which I am not fond of, but I don't regret choosing the field as I enjoyed working at the hospital after two years of time. If you have a better chance than this college, then I suggest opting for it. Campus life is very good and rich, and you can get more than one activity to do.

Really good infrastructure, qualified faculty members, amazing placements, no fests and events .
Placements: The college has internship partnerships with famous recruiters like Accenture, Wipro, Bajaj, Jupiter Hospital, Manipal Hospital, Jehangir Hospital, Ruby Hall Clinic, etc. Almost every student gets placed by the end of his/her course. The college authorities also place students in the SUHRC, which is the Symbiosis Hospital.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi has been provided to everyone. Classrooms are well-ventilated with a smart board system. The library is provided with a wide range of books accessible to every student. All the sports are available on campus, and tournaments are held every year between institutes. The college has its own hospital where all the services are provided either for free or at a discounted rate for the staff and students of Symbiosis.
Faculty: The faculty members are well-equipped and highly qualified. They provide systematic notes to all the students and also conduct assessments regularly to ensure that the students cope with the curriculum. The course curriculum is somewhat relevant, but at times there are subjects which aren't necessary, but at the end of the day, they help in boosting CGPA. The examinations are held at the end of every semester; they are usually on the easy side, but if one doesn't attend classes regularly, he/she might face some challenges in answering the questions.
Other: Fests and events are organized by colleges around SIHS; they are very famous, and students often have a very good time. Scholarships are provided to the students who are the toppers of the entire year.

I am satisfied with the infrastructure.
Placements: Only a few students got placed as there was no placement cell for the specified course, but yet some of them got an offer to attend the interview process in some of the companies. Alumni also helped students to get placed in the company. At last, it was fun attending that course.
Infrastructure: The college provides the best infrastructure, and all the facilities were provided by our college are at its best level. Events were organized at several times. The college also provides different workshop which was mandatory for all students to attend, and it was fruitful for the students.
Faculty: Teachers were qualified enough, and the course content was according to the industry need. Students have hospital practices in our course, which was on the alternate week. The college also supported for the internship and some student was supported to attend the placements. There is no placement cell for the specified course.

A mutually beneficial place for your learning.
Placements: There is a separate placement cell for MBA students where we get hands-on training of corporate as well as mock interview sessions. There was 100% placement assistance provided by SIHS placement cell. There were 100% placements in the previous batch according to college policy, i.e. excluding students with backlogs. There were around 90-95% placements in our batch. The highest salary package offered was 10 lacs per annum, and the lowest was 4 lacs per annum. Major roles offered were associated with the healthcare industry in different areas like market research, sales and marketing, and managerial positions.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Symbiosis campuses is amazing as they provide comfort and homely feeling to every student. There are many facilities available like Wi-Fi, classrooms, recreational facilities, and sports for all the students in the campus. Campus life at SIHS helped everyone learn a lot of things and made us independent people. The classrooms, medical facilities, and canteen are good enough for everyone who wants to be part of SIHS.
Faculty: The faculty here are very helpful, give knowledge about the corporate world and help us understand the practice areas of all management concepts. They guide us in our extra activities and research, as well as guide us during our placements. The teaching methods and the curriculum designed itself give the perfect exposure to industry and help students understand the pain areas as well.
Other: There is a lot of scope for extracurricular activities when it comes to Symbiosis. We have an annual event called Panache, blood donation drive, Wari as well as many international health-related conferences for our grooming.

Think 10 times before getting an admission here.
Placements: There are no placements for this course. Only MBA has placements. The average salary my seniors get is around 12K per month. The internship is included in our curriculum, 4 times academic and 2 in the summer. The average package for MBA goes up to 6 lakhs per annum. This institute mainly focuses only on MBA.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is not provided for the students. There are just 3 classrooms for 200 students and just around 150 chairs. We got a hospital/health centre on our campus. The library is good. The institute is not at all interested in sports and game hence, they don't provide anything. I have also heard the annual sports budget of my institute is around 3 lakhs and this all goes into the pocket of some person in admin block, and same goes with the cultural budget. The canteen is best. Good food with reasonable price. The hostel is expensive and hence, its good.
Faculty: They are qualified, but they lack the skill of teaching. Good ones get fired and resign the institute. Some topics are taught. Some are just dictated. The student-faculty ratio is 55:1. We do get a lot of hospital exposure. The curriculum is well planned but isn't followed. This is sometimes helpful and not at all knowledgeable.
Other: The fee is around Rs.1,20,000 and keeps on increasing. Not worth it. They say the medium is English, but most of them speak Marathi. This institute doesn't think twice to give admission. They give it to anybody. Hence, the crowd is mostly "tapori" type.
