B.Tech. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2015

The placements in our college were good earlier.
Placements: The placements in our college are average as not many companies have visited the campus. Even though only a few students got placed, the salary packages offered by the companies which visited the campus were good. It's a good place to study, and it can be much better. Many courses like B.Tech, MBA, and diploma are offered.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is great, and the college hostels are also nice. There is Wi-Fi facility available on the campus. CCTV cameras are installed in every classroom. A two storeyed-library with a lot of books is available. The labs are big and have a lot of free space. The campus is big enough and is neatly maintained. The floors are also maintained tidy.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are knowledgeable, co-operative, intelligent and are very much helpful to us. As they are not fluent in English, teaching quality was not so good but was understandable. We didn't had faculty available for few subjects, and the faculty members change every year.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the management.
Placements: No one got placement from our college since our college management had no interest in placing anyone. At the time of admission, they promised and said that, in this college, 100% placements are provided and that also in MNCs. My life got spoiled after joining here.
Infrastructure: The college has only one building which has everything inside it. There is no Wi-Fi facility for the students. The labs are not having all the equipment. The classrooms are the okay type. The library is good in look but not having all kinds of books. There is no medical facility available, and they don't even provide for any emergency purpose. Sports and game facilities are not there.
Faculty: During the 1st year time, the faculty were just awesome. They used to help us to gather or provide a good sum of knowledge, but as days passed away, the faculty was being changed. The management started playing with our career, and they were least interested in providing the students what they require.

Other: Except infrastructure, nothing is good in this college. The campus placement is totally zero. There is a shortage of faculty members in each department. One teacher handles more than three subjects. The faculty talks in the regional language. Many times, they taught in Oriya language only, which is very difficult for other states’ students. The training and placement cell is just like a museum. Please think many times before joining this college. When I joined it in 2010, the rank of the college was #8, and when I completed my course in 2014, the rank of college was # 64. Rank and performance of the college is continuously declining every year. Academics are the worst. The fee is too high and the labs have less equipment. You have to depend on self-study only. The location of the college is nice, as it connects to the city. If you only want to get a degree, please go through it, otherwise don't.

Other: I had a worst experience in these 4 year of engineering. I could not get the proper knowledge and guidance, which I expected from the institution. The institution had very less teaching staff. Practical were also not done properly. Therefore, I strongly say no, to join this institute.

2.2
1Placements2Infrastructure3Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life2Value for Money
Other: An average College, situated at the right place. Neither too far from city nor too close. Faculty wise- College recruits new Faculty members. Many of them joining college have passed out in recent times, out of job for long time looking for temporary faculty opportunity. Their concepts are not clear and expecting too much from them is a mistake from the student's side. College never takes it seriously. Few of the Faculty Members were good, though also had good level of experience in teaching but they never stayed with the college after 2013 and join other colleges for higher pay packages. Placement wise- College promises 80% placement which is simply fake. The placement is hardly 8%. Off-campuses are rare and On-Campuses are even rarer. Those who land themselves up with a job, if it involves college by any means, be it like if college sending you to off-campus or college bringing on-campus and you are getting a job via it, then you will have to pay back college a big amount later. When you pass out and go back to collect your certificates, college will ask you to pay 25-30K (rate of 2012-13) or else they will hold all your certificates & mark sheets. Say, privatized corruption. Infrastructure wise- College is average here. Located at a nice place with nice structure and has all lab requirements although it lacks faculty with experience to teach or explain you anything inside the labs. Most of them are clueless themselves. So don't expect too much. Research helps. This is just average because you can get your job done and forget it the next day. Good thing has always been the location, the friendly Faculty. Bad thing is less experienced faculty, poor placements, almost like playing with career of students. Canteen area is OK. You can get some relief there, if you're in First year. College fest are regularly organized and are also good. Gives enough opportunity to students to explore different areas which includes gaming, robotics, dance, singing etc. I studied Computer Science and passed out in 2011. When I took admission here in 2007, I had literally no option or colleges in hand and had to continue education without gap. That was a big mistake on my side. In the hope of saving a year, I lost many later. I don't recommend this college to any fresh school pass out candidate. Hefty fees will be charged from you and in return all you will get is nothing. College took around 8000 INR from each students for pre-placement training that was to be given in 4th year - 8th semester, but sadly they never gave any. Only 5 classes of GD/PI and 5 classes of Coding/C/C++/Aptitude was enough for college. When complained they kept it on hold and never cared. So basically, whatever we students gained was all because of our own strength and confidence. On Campus- We were one of the first batches to sit in On-campus, compared to any other college. It took place in 6th semester itself. When we were still in 3rd year, Company was ECS and it hired few, but those few never got any appointment letter and by the time we reached 8th semester, company had cancelled the appointments and everything. In 8th semester, we sat for Tech Mahindra which was the only good and branded Campus Placement Company, I would say. A handful few made it to Tech Mahindra. Other Campus Placements were by small companies. Most of them hired, but ended up cancelling appointment later, so not to be taken seriously. Off campus- 2 companies were there; L&T and Syntel. In L&T, very few made it, but had to pay a hefty money to college to get their certificates later. Same goes for Syntel. Study wise you'll not find passionate, research oriented students. Most of the students just want to get degrees and jump into the rat race which is one of the sad part of the education system itself. Even when you want to get exposure to research, your faculty will not at all help. College provided us Hostel services during 1st year only (For Boys) and for girls, it provides hostel services till 4th year. Hostel was OK. Fees was 28K, back in 2007 including food that included breakfast + lunch + dinner. Food was OK. Came straight from canteen and on time. Hostel was around 1.5 Kms away from college. It was a nice experience to live with many other students there and learn a lot of things and make friends. Although college never provided any strict timing or rules and whole hostel was like open ground to do anything. College should have maintained some good and strict rules by hiring a good warden. They took caution money for hostel but never returned the same after we left the hostel. According to me, this is not a nice place or Institute to study. I would not recommend students to invest time and money here. In case you couldn't land up a job for yourself, you'll be wasting a lot of time (not sure how many) after college. That's why I wrote - In the hope of saving 1 year, most of us lost many later. Many of my friends are still looking for a job and this is 2016. So invest good amount and time to studies and get into a much nicer college.

Other: The college was good at the initial time but slowly it gets worst day by day. Management failed to provide good teachers and lab facilities. They only focused on earning money. There was no placement. Today, the situation is that the college is almost in the position of shutting down.
