Campus life is not a walk in park!
Placements: 1) 100% of students were admitted into the MBBS course (UG). All the 150 seats allotted were filled based on All India entrance examination NEET UG). 2) All the students passed out successfully were given Registration number according to the MGR medical university. The Students can start their own private practice or can pursue PG course after successfully clearing NEET PG Entrance examination. Students can also get into Government jobs by clearing MRB examination. Thus they can join PHCs and provide service to the community as they aspired to be. In our college 50% of the students are studying PG. The remaining are preparing for the PG or MRB exam and few have entered into government jobs or started being a Private Practitioner. 3) Top colleges require higher marks and involve national level competition to enter into it. But ultimately a Doctor's skill and experience, the way he handles his patients and his expertise determines his Career and fame. 4) After passing out final year all the students are required to undergo a Compulsory Rotatory Resident Internship (CRRI) of 1 year in the same college or if they wish to change, any college of their preference if the MGR university board approves. PG internship is done in their respective colleges chosen by students to continue PG. 5) There are non clinical seats in our college. And our college is seeking approval for clinical and paraclinical seats too. They are self financing seats and students can pursue if they get high marks. After completing UG course students can work here as tutors and Junior Residents. Only after PG completion they get promoted to Senior Residents, assistant and associate Professor.
Infrastructure: 1) The infrastructure is good and our Lecture halls are facilitated with AC for comfortable learning and listening. There is a smart board and blackboard too, whichever tool a teacher can use to teach. It accommodates almost 160 students and is spacious and neat. The labs are well maintained by the Lab technicians and the equipment are sterilised regularly and the safety measures meet the standard protocols as issued by the MGR medical university. Students are separated into batches and go to different labs as per schedule. The Library and hostel is equipped with Wi-Fi during all the working days. Library doesn't function during holidays. Our Library has all the books related to medicine and is up to date with all national and international journals, magazines and Publications. Along with medical books, nursing, paramedical books are also available. The hospital infrastructure is great with cleanliness and sanitation well maintained. Separate and spacious beds for patients and chairs for visitors are provided. The safety measures, and the waste disposal is as per the protocol 2) Since I was a hosteler I am able to answer this question. Hostel is separate for boys and girls. MBBS hostel is separated from nursing and paramedical hostel. The room is adequately ventilated well lit and is available as 1 room for 2 person. We can also get single rooms with a higher amount. The food is good and non veg is provided 3 times a week, and vegetarians can choose to opt out. Veg is available everyday. Mess timings is to be followed. Sports facilities is great and students participate in inter college competitions in various Sports. It's encouraged and there is separate playground and fields for various games. Canteen is available in hospital premises predominantly for patients but anybody is allowed to eat there. The food is nice and the rates are reasonable too.
Faculty: 1) The teachers are well qualified as their alma mater is from reputable colleges and universities, some of them being toppers. The senior and junior professors are a great source of knowledge and experience in the medical field. They are skilled and help us to gain skill with their expertise. The teaching quality is very good. They are student friendly with some of them being strict. 2) the course curriculum followed is as suggested by the MGR medical university and same is followed during examinations. Teachers obviously prepare the students with internal exams and practicals. But a lot of effort is required from the students side too.
Other: 1) it's my passion to be a Doctor with the very role model being my parents. I wanted to be a part of the medical community. I had different aspirations whole joining but now I want to be a psychiatrist. The best thing about our course is hospitals never take leave and are available to patients 24 *7. The patients are teachers to put students and saving lives is an incredible thing. Treating sickness free of cost is very helpful to poor patients and brings satisfaction and love. 2) There are many events organised during the 5 and half year course study. The Seniors organise the fresher's day, culturals, Sports meet etc. And it allows students to participate and exhibit their talents. This also promotes senior junior bonding which is important in medicine career. Failure is part of the package and friends help us deal better with them. Campus surrounding is eco friendly and it is located in vast acres of land. Students can use the playground or are seen jogging and walking around the campus during morning and evening. The campus is not in the centre of Trichy so not all places are easily accessible apart from that it is awesome. They engage in extracurricular activities and are encouraged to do projects in ICMR.

Review of Trichy SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre.
Placements: There are 150 students per batch. The average salary package offered ranges from 18 LPA - 21 LPA. The minimum salary pacakge offered ranges between 4 LPA - 7 LPA. Students are offered internships in our college itself. But students do not get stipend.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. The hostel comes with 2 students per room. The library is easily accessible. It also provides a centralized air-conditioner with a gallery classroom. Hospital is multi-specialized in this college and the campus is very good. Students also have a canteen and a small store for students' basic needs.
Faculty: In this college, all faculty members are not student friendly. There are lots of restrictions in this college. They fail students based on their personality of the student. Practicals are to be teachers dependent. The theory is what they learn, students can pass exams if they concentrate well and study for internals.
