B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2026
4.4

Impressive infrastructure and facilities, but faculty members and placements could improve.
Placements: Students placed in my university is approximately 30%. The highest salary package offered is 12 LPA. The average salary package offered is 3 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 1 LPA both on-campus and off-campus included. Top recruiting companies are TCS and Accenture. Approximately 50% of students got internships by InternPe and Nullclass. Top role offered is web developer.
Infrastructure: All things are available in our college. We have good facility of Wi-Fi and better labs. Classrooms contain air-conditioners and digital boards. In hostel, Wi-Fi facility is also available. Mess is pretty good. But canteen around the hostel is not available. Sports and games facilities are available and interested students either play or participate in them.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good. But for industrial knowledge, we have to develop our own skills. The curriculum is relevant but it basically focuses on theoretical knowledge not much more on practical knowledge. Difficult level of exams is intermediate. Passing percentage is 33%.

B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2025

Only infrastructure is good.
Placements: This year, till now, only 8-10% of people got placed in our batch. Yet, the placement season is still going on. I can't say anything about the package in details, but the average LPA is 2.4 Lacs per annum. Sphere, Jagran Groups, Cincooni, SRDT, and Intelliipat are visiting our campus. These are the companies that have only visited the CSE. 8-10% of people have only joined the company. Top roles offered are software development for core, and for non-core, i.e., BDE and customer support, with a package of 9LPA+.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available but very slow. Centralized AC rooms. Labs are well-equipped (but no permission to use as all are too old). Classrooms are good, well-arranged seats. The library is digitalized. Wi-Fi is available. The mess and canteen food is the worst. Medical facilities are the worst. Sports and games are available.
Faculty: Professors are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The course is outdated. They need to update the syllabus. We have to learn from the outside and put in extra effort to learn. The semester exam is average; you can pass the exam from notes and PYQs.
Other: I am from batch 2021 B.Tech CSE. I chose CSE as I was very interested in learning about software development. This course provides me with the foundation to explore programming, AI, and development. The syllabus is outdated and needs to be updated according to the industry. More internship opportunities and hands-on projects should be encouraged. The university hosts Techkriti, CSJMU youth festival, Geek Week, and Dandiya night. Students do participate in cultural and technical activities. But the college never provides a budget to organize a fest. Students have to search for sponsors, and they do not help in getting sponsors.

B.Tech. in Information Technology - Batch of 2024

Not satisfied with placement .
Placements: The interview process was poorly organized, with long wait times and unclear communication. Technical questions were consistent with the job role, and the overall experience was frustrating and unprofessional. Improvement in coordination is needed.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is adequate with essential facilities in place. However, there is room for improvement in areas like Wi-Fi connectivity, workplace ergonomics, and maintenance. Overall, it meets basic needs but could benefit from some enhancement.
Faculty: The faculty lacks engagement and often fails to clarify concepts, making learning difficult. The curriculum feels outdated and doesn't align well with industry standards. Exams are poorly structured, focusing more on rote memorization than practical application. Overall, it's a disappointing experience.
Other: Information technology 2024.

B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2027

Overall good college at this stage.
Placements: 100% placement of Mechanical branch in the year 2024. The lowest package is 2.14 LPA, and the highest is 12 LPA. The average is 3.4 LPA. Honda, L&T, etc. Internship is compulsory, so almost all students have to do it. Assistant engineer. There is a huge building for the workshop.
Infrastructure: All facilities are present in comparison to HBTU and IIT Kanpur. Hostel is excellent, and food is excellent. A Nexon car is always present in the hostel for ambulance, and the best food is given to us. The menu is decided by students. All game equipment is present, and a gym is also available at 200 Rs for hostellers.
Faculty: All the faculty members are capable of teaching and have knowledge. Of course, only the Mechanical branch has 100% placement. The toughness of exams is moderate. The pass percentage is 90%. Every faculty member is always ready to help students and available 24/7.
Other: I have an interest in Mechanical engineering. We wish to build an engineering club for the Mechanical branch.

Good for preparation and GATE.
Placements: 70% of students from last year got placed. The placement scenario last year was like the highest package was 34 LPA, the lowest was 1.5 LPA and the average was 2.5 LPA. The top recruiting companies were Phonepe, BYJU, etc. None got an internship from my batch. There is nothing like on campus internship.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our campus is very beautiful, it's full of trees, grass, and plants. Every building is well furnished. Every course has different buildings. Some classrooms have AC and some do not. Wi-Fi is available on the whole campus. The hostel is very good. The food in the mess is really tasty and has a huge variety.
Faculty: Most teachers are very helpful. Many of our teachers are from IIT, NIT, and many reputed Universities. Teachers are very experienced in their respective fields. The course is just a little old so it is not making students industry-ready. The semester exam difficulty is moderate. You need 33 to 38% to pass the semester.
Other: I chose this course because it plays well and it is highly demanding. To improve this course the syllabus should be renewed and more likely to be practical. Everyone who fills for the scholarship gets it. You can see many events and festivals on campus like a fresher, garba night, many kavi sammelans and many more.

Review of B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from CSJMU Kanpur.
Placements: About 10% of the students in my batch were placed after graduation. The highest salary offered was 4 LPA, and the lowest was 2 LPA. The companies that recruited students this year were Jagran and Mittal Software Labs, and they only recruited students from the CSE program. There is very little chance of getting a job in the Mechanical Engineering program. About 50% of the students in my batch were able to find internships on their own, based on their skills. The university did not provide any assistance in finding internships. Most of the students who got internships went to work for tech companies.
Infrastructure: The campus is lush and green, and the classrooms are smart and well-equipped with cameras. The library looks good, but we usually can't find the books we need. The hostel rooms are shared by two students and have Wi-Fi, a small playground, and basic furnishings. The food is average, and the medical facilities are not always up to the mark. Sports and games are not a regular occurrence, happening only two or three times a year. There's a big stadium next to the helipad area of the college.
Faculty: The faculty to be very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The grading system is relative, meaning that the student with the highest score gets an A+, and other students are graded according to that highest-scoring student. The exams are not very difficult, but we do need to have the desire to learn. If we attend class and pay attention, we can do well.
Other: I wanted to do B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering for my family business. The best thing about the course is that it prepares you for the industry. The teachers are very knowledgeable, but they are often busy with other tasks and don't spend enough time teaching the students. Events and fests are sporadic. The boy-to-girl ratio in the class is 4:1, but the overall college ratio is 1:1. Students who score more than 40-50% each year and provide the correct information on the scholarship form are eligible for the UP Scholarship. As an OBC student, I received Rs. 52,000/- as a scholarship.
