B.Tech. in Geo Science Engineering - Batch of 2021
4.2

Nice faculty and decent infrastructure.
Placements: The placements here at UPES are fine around 80 percent of the students in our senior batches are placed in well reputed companies. The highest package that is offered to a geo Science student is around 12 to 14 Lacs and the lowest is around 3 Lacs to a student.
Infrastructure: The college has its own Wi-Fi named UPESNET. The labs here have a separate department named as R&D department where are the labs are present. Here the canteen is fine with hygienic food and the classrooms are big enough for 70 students and we have a huge library of 3 floors.
Faculty: Most of the faculty is IITs passed with some faculty with Ph.D. from UPES itself also they are very helpful to the students. All the classroom test, assignments and tutorial sheets are uploaded online to the UPES blackboard website. The industry exposure is given to the students in third year and also here there are 23 types of faculty members.
Other: Here there are two type of fest first the normal fest Urja and the other Tech fest named as ignite. Urja is of 2 days whereas ignite is of 3 days.

B.Tech. in Geo Science Engineering - Batch of 2017

Satisfied with faculty, good placements, very good infrastructure, facilities, etc.
Placements: Almost every student got placed. Most of them got IT companies like IBM, Infosys, Microsoft, Tech Mahindra, etc. The average package was around 3 LPA but I can't exactly remember the highest and lowest salaries offered. Companies offered different roles to the students like senior analysts, sales engineers, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the university is very good. Surroundings of the college are with forests and are pollution-free. The college has 10 blocks, several labs, a library, an energy house, an administration department and separate hostels inside the campus. The college is 10 km away from Dehradun city. Natural beauty can be seen everywhere around the college. Wi-fi has a good speed with good medical facilities, sports and games available. The university owns a cricket stadium.
Faculty: The course curriculum is good. Faculty members are helpful, very experienced (except a few) and knowledgeable. Teachings are usually practiced on the slide and there are a lot of assignments. The student to faculty ratio is 20:1. Everyone goes for industry exposure like in ONGC, GSPC, etc. The course curriculum was very useful for the GATE exam.

University with a great faculty, excellent placements and really good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Placement of the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies is very good. Placement was nearly 90% in our batch. Companies from different domains visited the campus and students got selected with appropriate salary packages and job profiles. Joining letters were offered to students at a proper time and companies that visited also showed an interest towards summer internships of third-year students.
Infrastructure: The campus is situated in Dehradun, at the foot of the Himalayas which provide the best environment for students to learn. The college has great Wi-Fi, labs of all specialised domains, classrooms equipped with the latest technology, the library is full of quality study material in adequate quantity and also provides online access. Medical facilities of the campus are upgrading since the beginning and the availability of doctor and emergency equipment fulfils the medical facilities. Adequate sports facilities in different areas like cricket, table tennis, basketball, volleyball etc. are there. Hostels are very hygienic and approachable. The quality of food on campus is very good.
Faculty: University is filled with high-level faculty members who are qualified and knowledgeable. They provide all theoretical and practical experiences of the domain to the students of the university. It's very easy to access the faculty of the university. With lots of departments, it was easy to get connected with the faculty of different departments which was helpful in projects. However curriculum covers almost everything which is needed by the industry, but it can be updated according to the necessity and demand of the industry. With great faculty and curriculum, the students of the university get a chance to meet high-end internships.

Other: M.Tech at University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, was a wonderful experience with huge and wonderful infrastructure built, knowledgeable faculty and placements as good as other same level colleges. Experience of studies into a campus surrounded by Mussoorie mountain ranges, away from polluted and noise cities, made the two years of graduation memorable.

B.Tech. in Geo Science Engineering - Batch of 2015
3.6
3Placements5Infrastructure4Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
Other: It’s a well-known college but lacks the spark which was there. It provides average placements, awesome weather and infrastructure. You should be focused on getting things done by yourself. Don’t expect a lot from college as they will bring the company, but if you are a mediocre student it won't be that much of a help.
