Decent Infrastructure, Average Academics: A Mixed Bag at UMIT.
Placements: UMIT typically has a good placement record, with around 70-80% of students getting placed each year. Top Recruiters: Companies like Visa, Deutsche Bank, Barclays, Colgate, and Bank of America are among the top recruiters at UMIT. For the 2023-24 academic year, UMIT placed 32 students with an average package of 32.76 LPA and the highest package of 203 LPA.
Infrastructure: UMIT is a decent engineering college in Mumbai, offering a good academic environment and decent infrastructure. However, the quality of facilities, especially the hostel and mess, can be inconsistent. The quality of food in the mess and canteen is generally decent, with a variety of options available.
Faculty: The difficulty of semester exams at Usha Mittal Institute of Technology (UMIT) can vary depending on the specific course and professor. However, generally, the exams are considered to be of moderate difficulty. To succeed in these exams, consistent effort, regular attendance, and active participation in classes are crucial. It's also important to stay updated with the syllabus and complete assignments on time.
Other: It provides a higher number of placements for computer engineering, keeping that in mind, taking admission for this course in this college is very beneficial for career experience.

My holistic experience in UMIT.
Placements: The placements are the best thing about our college since that's what it focuses on the most. All the teachers help the students to be fit for the placements, so they support both academics and extracurriculars. The placements have gone as high as 42 LPA and as low as 3 LPA, with an average somewhere around 7-8 LPA.
Infrastructure: The hostel is very hard to get, but it's amazing. The hostel mess is so good that even us PGs often order our food from there. The infrastructure is okay, but the natural elements are much more prominent on our campus since it's a university; it’s very big and not just one building. The location is also very prime.
Faculty: The teachers are quite helpful, but as usual, some are lenient while others are very strict. They support students and understand their problems if they are facing issues. They also help when we're dealing with serious academic or attendance challenges, so overall, I like the faculty.
Other: The college is great; I chose it for the placements. The crowd is good too, but a girls' college will always be a girls' college. The students are not very active in participating in events, but there are always some events taking place from time to time.

Good for placements and, as a girl, if you want to take admission in a girls' college.
Placements: I am from the Computer Engineering department. 90 percent of students get placed in my course. The highest package offered till now is 31 Lacs by Visa, the average package is 7 Lacs, and the lowest is 3.25 Lacs. Companies like Visa, Oracle, Deutsche, and Colgate visit our campus. Roles offered by the companies are different according to their requirements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is not that fascinating and cool. It is average-looking. The library is good, Wi-Fi is provided in the labs only, and AC is provided in the labs only. The hostel is also average, not that cool, but you can stay. The hostel meal is good at the start, but it is not good for health. Sports opportunities are there in the college.
Faculty: The teachers were helpful towards students, but some of the teachers lacked qualified teaching. You have to complete the syllabus on your own through self-studying. The course of computer engineering makes students ready for industry work, but you have to put extra effort on your own. The level of exams is average; you can pass easily if you know the basics of the subjects.
Other: I wanted to go for engineering, that's the reason I chose this course. There are many fests and events that happen in the college, which help you increase college connectivity and confidence. The college provides scholarships for backward class students.

Usha Mittal Institute of technology.
Placements: Top recruiting companies are Visa, Deutsche Bank, Barclays, Colgate, and Bank of American. The average package is 4-5 LPA. The highest package of last year was 22 LPA. The internship opportunities are also very good. 70 to 80% of students get placed from the placements.
Infrastructure: The hostel is good there are 4 B.Ed and 2 B.Ed occupancies. The infrastructure of the college is average, the labs are well maintained. And there is Wi-Fi in labs, the mess and canteen food is average. The classrooms are good the teaching staff is also friendly.
Faculty: The faculty members are very intelligent in their respective subjects. The curriculum is very relevant to the courses. The semester exams are difficult. The curriculum makes the students industry-ready by giving them various opportunities. The teaching quality is above average.

Empowering Tomorrow's Innovation.
Placements: The number of students placed in my course was about 10 to 20%, and if we talk about the whole college, the number of students placed was 70%. The highest package was about 32 LPA approximately, the average package was up to 15 LPA, and the lowest package was 9-10 LPA. The recruiting companies that come to the college for internships or placements are VISA, Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, etc. The percentage of students who got internships from my course was comparatively less, and top roles offered in my course are Data Analyst, Data Engineer, Developer, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are not as expected, but the classrooms are good and renovated. There is Wi-Fi and AC only available in labs, and the library is quite good. All books are available, and they even help you and guide you in taking books from the library. The quality of the facilities in the hostel is not quite good, and the food available in the mess is not healthy, though the canteen food is better in comparison with the hostel food. The medical facilities are okay, and the closing time of the GATE in the hostel is 8 pm, and you can't get out of the building after that.
Faculty: The faculty members in this college are really helpful and IIM graduates. They are very knowledgeable and help you deal with not only college problems but real-life problems. The teaching quality is above average, and the course curriculum is also relevant. Yes, it makes the students industry-ready and teaches them a lot. The difficulty of the exams in the semester is above average, and I think it is a little difficult at the start, but as you get to know about everything, it will get easier. The passing CGPA is above 4, and giving tests and solving PYQs will really help you to score better, like a 7 CGPA.
Other: The reason behind choosing this course is that it is a new branch introduced and it is a trending field nowadays. We do see scope in data science and analysis in the future, and most probably the graph in the field of data science and artificial intelligence seems to be increasing. This course is really good and boosts up your speed in analysis. The field in which it needs improvement is the teachers, but nothing else. The events and the fest held at Usha Mittal Institute of Technology are really good and happening, and one of the best fests in Mumbai. The campus is also great, and there are many opportunities available here to showcase your talent. Scholarships are also available here for minority students. Apart from this, it is really enjoyable to study in this college.

Dissatisfied with the environment given at the college from a student's perspective.
Placements: Software developer, Data analytics, and also offering some non-technical roles like management and finance. Companies also come in for immediate recruitment. Companies like Colgate, Visa, DB, Barclays, and Bank of America are a few big companies that come for placements on the campus.
Infrastructure: The whole college and hostel building are currently undergoing renovation, which it absolutely needed. There is no Wi-Fi service on the college campus, and it's down most of the time. The same applies to the hostel. The network is pretty bad too. The computer labs are mostly non-functional.
Faculty: The college doesn't really make you job-ready, but you get a good amount of opportunities to go outside the academic curriculum to work on your coding skills. But it's not really backed up by the college, so you have to manage both of them and may even face biases.
Other: The fest is pretty fun, small scale, but still quite fun. The campus is huge as it is inside the SNDT Women's University. Public transport is easily available, 15 minutes walking from the Santacruz station. You do get a lot of exposure.
