Is B.Sc at V.P.M.'s B. N. Bandodkar College of Science a good choice?

Here's a summary of the key points:

* Placement Opportunities: Unfortunately, there are no placements guaranteed for students in the B.Sc course, especially in the CS department. Companies rarely visit the campus for recruitment. Internship opportunities are scarce, and students often rely on their own efforts to secure positions.
* Faculty Quality: While some teachers are helpful and knowledgeable, others may not prioritize supporting students' career aspirations. Some students feel that the faculty could be more proactive in helping students gain industry-relevant skills.
* Course Curriculum: The curriculum may not be entirely industry-oriented, leading to a gap between academic preparedness and workplace requirements. However, the college has recently gained autonomy, allowing it to revise the syllabus and align it with industry standards.
* Campus Life: The campus is well-maintained, with amenities like a gym, sports ground, canteen, and library. Extracurricular activities, festivals, and events are regular features, offering a balanced college experience.
* Career Guidance: Despite some shortcomings, teachers generally guide students towards their career goals. Some students appreciate the support received from professors, particularly in the CS and IT departments.
* Infrastructure: Facilities like classrooms, labs, and libraries are adequate, although some students feel that the Wi-Fi connectivity is limited.
* Social Life: Student associations, clubs, and societies contribute to a vibrant social scene, encouraging participation and teamwork.

In conclusion, while V.P.M.'s B. N. Bandodkar College of Science offers some positive aspects, students seeking guaranteed placements and a fully industry-oriented curriculum might find themselves somewhat disappointed. However, the college's recent autonomy and emphasis on extra-curricular activities might indicate improvements in the coming years. Aspirants should weigh the pros and cons carefully before choosing this institution.

Dissatisfied because of many things. Totally a waste of time and money.
Placements: To be honest, there are no placements for this course. Packages totally depend on your skills and one needs to go out of campus for placements. No recruiting companies are here. No internship for any student; its just a degree course here without any skills. Top roles depend on the skills and knowledge of the students.
Infrastructure: Facilities available are quite common and are available in all colleges. There are no Wi-Fi facilities for students. Labs are good but not that suitable for students to learn. There are computers but they are old and may create problems or will not work well while performing practicals. The library is big with a variety of books.
Faculty: Teachers are doing their job of teaching but not preparing students to help them acquire more skills and be industry-ready. Practical knowledge is missing and needs to improve a lot. We need to focus on making students understand rather than completing the syllabus.
Other: I chose this course because it is worth learning and also from the point of view of today's world of digitalization. I want to acquire knowledge and be a software engineer. I wish there must be a course every semester to upgrade the skills of students. At least 70% of the focus needs to be on that to make students capable of getting jobs. The events conducted are good.

No value for money as well as for your future, if you are seriously dedicated.
Placements: Sorry to say but no companies approached the college for our branches so no placements, no nothing! No placements, so no packages, as mentioned above. No companies! No internships! For top roles, it completely depends on your knowledge and there are no placements so you need to prepare on your own.
Infrastructure: The classes are not spacious and they are old-fashioned. Not so good but average interior. There is no Wi-Fi service for students as such. The library is decent and there are various types of books and research papers available for students to acquire knowledge.
Faculty: Teaching quality was absolutely nothing. I respect teachers, but they focus only on bookish knowledge rather than just providing practical knowledge. (Aim is to only complete the syllabus.). Yes, it definitely makes sense, but it depends on college to college. Sorry to say but our college does not provide any internships or placements related to the computer science field. It is very easy to pass exams, and it depends from student to student. Pass percentage is more than 80%; most of the students get passed.
Other: I chose this course because it was quite interesting, as the name suggested and it was also related to my future ambitions. The best thing about courses is that we always get to learn new things as we are learning new technologies, new ways and digitalization. There needs to be some improvement in every aspect; things need to be sorted and teaching should be based more on practicality than practicality. Events are not large enough, and those conducted are also not up to par.

Very good campus life and infrastructure.
Placements: I had just passed out of my B.Sc. Chemistry academics. There are no such placement opportunities for aided courses; however, in unaided courses, students get placed in IT and CS departments. The college placement cell has plenty of roles for students.
Infrastructure: The campus has very good infrastructure; all the buildings are well maintained. The classes and labs are well organized. The college premises are clean and nice. The canteen has decent food and meals. The gymkhana is active and has plenty of indoor games. The college library provides book bank facilities throughout the academic year for students.
Faculty: The overall academic course syllabus is well defined as per modern aspects. The entire curriculum consists of various projects, academic tours, and industrial visits. The exams are conducted on time as per the syllabus. The faculty members are very supportive and helpful; they interact with students and their teaching methods are very helpful throughout academics.
Other: The campus is really nice and huge. The college organizes it's annual Akansha Fest and many more co-curricular sports and NSS activities.

Outer infrastructure is good; don't get attracted by it. Absolutely dissatisfied; no placements.
Placements: Currently, I am pursuing a bachelor's degree. I am a student of TYBSC Computer Science and there is no hope of placements. At the beginning of our degree in FY, our head of department (Abhijeet Kale Sir) said many things about college, facilities and placements; all he said was fake. Any recruiting company does not visit our college; all the promises made by Kale sir were fake.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good. Classrooms are old-style, like there is no projector in the classroom, but labs are good. Literally, I have never tried canteen food so I don't know about it. Sports facilities are also not so good. The outer infrastructure of buildings is good, and the campus areas are beautiful. Students get attracted to the outer beauty of college; internal education is not good.
Faculty: It depends on the teachers; some are good and some are not; it depends on the different perspectives of different students. But the course curriculum is very poor. In the name of autonomous colleges, they teach us the old syllabus of Mumbai University, i.e., 2019. Even Mumbai University follows the latest syllabus of 2023–24. Passing the exam is very easy.

BNB review - Hit or miss!
Placements: There was no placement for my subject. Chemistry has industry visit and internships, also other subjects such as management, Polytechnic have placement drive. The highest salary is no barr but one can get the lowest to 10 thousand. The passed out students have got in companies as analyst or teachers.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good and maintained. The classrooms are big and have sitting benches. There is no hostel facility. The campus has playground, canteen, xerox centre, cafe located inside. The department has a practical lab that has projector and other instruments pertaining to practicals.
Faculty: The exams happens twice in a year. It combination of theory + practicals. The 60/40 pattern is followed and practicals have individual marls as per subject. The course has curriculum set by Mumbai university it is not completely as per industry standard many skill students have to acquire by their own even after pursuing the course. There are study excursions also.
Other: I chose the course because it was affordable also the faculty focused on teaching. The social life of college is good there are Fest and sports programme and various drives arranged by NSS, NCC.

Really good experience in this college.
Placements: Talking about placements, they are good, but only those students who score very well throughout their college career get this opportunity; as they observe students, the companies that come in for placements are very good and well named for the CS and IT courses that provide the best placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, but they have developed more by the way they managed all of it beautifully. The labs, classrooms, and library spaces are big and well managed, and all of them are well furnished. Hostels are not available in this college, but they are available in nearby colleges. Medical facilities are available, but they are not properly managed, and a special gymkhana is provided for fun. There is also carrom, chess, and table tennis available, and all students get the opportunity to play. All of this gives the college an extra point.
Faculty: The curriculum is very good and managed by the HOD because colleges are autonomous. The curriculum and syllabus given by colleges to students are industry-relevant. The teachers are very good and well-studied. They are helpful and give the right direction for all students. The exams are well managed by the college, and the difficulty level of the exams depends on how students study and work on studying. My teachers are very good, but we need to attend all lectures.
Other: This is a critical aspect of my life, as well as the lives of all students. Because I chose the CS course as the best course. But all courses are good, and in college, all departmental events are scheduled in December, and this college is well known for its fests. The college is giving more opportunities to all students for stepping up their careers, and the campus is very good and big. There are 13 sheds available for students on campus to enjoy their free time, well-managed gardens, and big fields available for cricket. There is also a turf facility there.
