National Institute of Design (NID) has released the final result for MDes, BDes and GDPD course admissions. Aspirants who have been shortlisted for admission basis their performance in NID DAT (Prelims) and NID DAT (Mains) need to take part in the final admission round of NID entrance exam 2017.
Thus, aspirants need to submit their admission confirmation online as per the below mentioned schedule:

NID had shared the schedule for NID DAT Mains for BDes and GDPD course. Candidates who have made it to the merit list of NID DAT Prelims for BDes and GDPD need to select their NID DAT Mains exam centre online on the official website of the design school.
Aspirants are informed that NID DAT Mains test centre for BDes and GDPD were allotted to them on first-come-first-serve basis. NID DAT Mains test centres are as mentioned below:

Candidates had to report to their allotted test centre for NID Mains for BDes and GDPD course admissions latest by 8:30 am on the exam day. No interviews will be conducted to shortlist candidates for admission in BDes and GDPD course by NID.

NID DAT (Prelims) result for BDes and GDPD course was announced on February 28, 2017. Candidates were informed that the schedule for NID DAT (Mains) for these courses would be released on March 31, 2017. However, the design school released the schedule earlier.
National Institute of Design (NID) has also announced admission dates for PhD course. Interested candidates need to submit their application form for PhD course admission latest by March 31, 2017.
To secure admission in PhD course at NID, aspirants need to appear for and clear Design Research Test (DRT). Candidates who clear DRT then need to appear for an interview round.
NID conducts the admission process for PhD course once every year.

NID had earlier released the official answer key for NID DAT Prelims 2017. NID has released the answer keys for the entrance exam conducted on January 8, 2017 for BDes, GDPD and MDes course admissions.
Shiksha spoke to aspirants who took NID DAT Prelims 2017 and as per the student feedback the exam was easier as compared to last year.

In order to secure admission in MDes and BDes courses, candidates need to take part in NID admission process which is conducted in two stages. Here, first of all aspirants need to take NID DAT (Prelims), which is a pen and paper based test. Candidates who are shortlisted in this NID entrance exam then need to appear for NID DAT (Mains) which comprises of a studio test and interview round.
NID DAT (Prelims) comprises of two sections – Part A and Part B. The first section of the exam contains objective type questions whereas the second part contains subjective type questions.

NID Entrance Exam 2017 Application Process
Aspirants need to apply for NID admissions 2017 by filling the application form on the official website of the college.
In order to fill NID application form for admissions 2017, candidates need to first of all create a login ID. For doing so, aspirants need to provide details like educational qualification, name, gender, email address, mobile number, date of birth, nationality and reservation category.
Aspirants need to make sure that the mobile number as well as email ID used by them to create the login ID is functional for a year (atleast).
As soon as a candidate completes this signup process, he/she will have to login to his/her NID admission account by using the email ID as well as date of birth provided by them at the time of signup.
Once this is done, aspirants can access the NID entrance exam 2017 application form wherein they need to fill the below mentioned information:
- Father’s Name
- Mother’s Name
- Place of Birth
- Present Address
- Permanent Address
- Exam Centre
- Discipline
- Educational Qualifications
- Work Experience
In NID admission 2017 application form, aspirants are given the choice to select a total of two disciplines of their choice for which they want to apply for admission. The official website of NID explains the same with an example: “For applicants applying to undergraduate programmes, Please make a choice for the specific programme – (i) only B.Des. (ii) only GDPD (iii) both B.Des. and GDPD. Please note that once the payment formalities are completed, this choice cannot be altered”.
All the programmes offered at NID campuses like NID Ahmedabad, NID Gandhinagar and NID Bengaluru are listed in NID application form. Know the list of colleges accepting NID entrance exam 2017 scores and seats available for admission.
After an aspirant fills all the details on the NID entrance exam 2017 application form, he/she need to save the form and thereafter upload all the required documents.
Candidates need to upload their photograph and signature in their online application form as per the below mentioned format and size:

On completion of this step, candidates need to pay the test fee for NID Entrance Exam 2017. Aspirants can pay the application fee for NID admissions either online (Credit/Debit Card) or offline (Demand Draft). Once aspirants pay the application fee they will not be able to make any changes to their application form.

After the NID application fee payment is made successfully candidates will be directed to the ‘Print’ section wherein they will need to take a print of the NID application form submitted by them or save their form as a PDF file.
