Coronavirus Lockdown 4.0: JNU admin department reopens from today, No visitors allowed

The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has today reopen the offices. The JNU administration has issued guidelines for the university’s administrative functioning during the fourth stage of lockdown, which will continue until May 31.

The guidelines are in conformity with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs for the containment of coronavirus pandemic.

The circular issued by JNU stated that, “All officers heading various sections and those who are residing on the campus shall attend office in the Administrative Building on all working days”. Downloading the Aarogya Setu mobile application is mandatory. Other employees will continue to work from home.

On May 18, JNU had issued a circular stating that the varsity will keep its campus closed until May 31. The circular further added that a roster will be prepared for regulating the attendance of officers and staff below the level of deputy registrar such that a required number of employees attend office every day. Social distancing and use of masks are compulsory in all workplaces inside the administrative building.

According to JNU administrative guidelines Central Dak Unit will also start functioning from today, i.e.May 22.

The lockdown, was imposed from March 25 to contain further spread of the coronavirus and extended multiple times, which has led to the closure of all educational institutions. The lockdown in its fourth phase, however, this time it is with certain relaxations. The Ministry of Home Affairs has earlier also permitted to conduct the remaining board exams of Class 10 and Class 12.
