CSAB 2020 Opening and Closing Rank: Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) announces the opening and closing rank soon after the special counselling round is over. These opening and closing ranks can be considered as the CSAB 2020 cutoff for the branches and institutes.

CSAB 2020 cutoff is the rank after which the institutes allow no seat allotment to students. CSAB round 1 cutoff 2020 for NITs and IIITs have been announced. After the announcement of round-2 result 2020, CSAB 2020 round 2 opening and closing rank NITs, IIITs and GFTIs will also be released for the aspirants. Candidates who have cleared either of the JEE Main or JEE Advanced exams and have successfully registered for the CSAB 2020 counselling process before the last date are eligible for the CSAB 2020 special round counselling and seat allotment process.

The CSAB counselling and seat allotment process will be conducted in two rounds where the opening and closing ranks will be released separately for each round. CSAB 2020 “Opening Rank” and “Closing Rank” can be confusing sometimes which is why these terms have been explained in a simplified manner below:

CSAB Opening Rank: The lowest rank eligible to secure admission in one of the participating institutes of CSAB Special Rounds.

CSAB Closing Rank: The highest rank eligible to secure admission in one of the participating institutes of CSAB Special Rounds.

Follow the steps mentioned below to check the opening and closing ranks:

  • Visit the official website: csab.nic.in or click on the link below
  • On the homepage of the official portal, click on the Opening and Closing Ranks 2020 tab provided in the left panel
  • Enter Special Round No, Institute Type, Institute Name and Academic Programme
  • Opening and Closing Rank will be displayed on the screen, download it for future reference

The board has already declared the CSAB 2020 round 1 opening and closing ranks for admission to NIT, IIITs and GFTIs. Candidates can check the same by clicking on the link below. CSAB round 1 opening and closing ranks were announced for the candidates after the declaration of round-1 seat allotment result on November 21, 2020.

CSAB conducts only two special rounds of counselling for vacant seats available in IIITs, NITs and GFTIs. CSAB counselling 2020 commenced on November 17 and will continue till November 30, 2020. As per reports, around 7,400 seats were vacant in IIITs, NITs and GFTI after JoSAA 2020 counselling. CSAB is conducting special round counselling to fill these vacant seats.
