Delhi University declares summer vacation from June 13

All colleges affiliated to Delhi University to follow suffer vacation from June 13 to June 30. The varsity will conduct the exams from July 1 to July 31.

Delhi University has announced that all the colleges affiliated to it will have summer vacation from June 13 to June 30. The vacation will start after the varsity will complete the question paper setting and moderation for end semester exams.

The University of Delhi is all set to hold its final year exams from July 1 to July 31. Earlier, the university had released the tentative exam schedule on its website.

As per the date sheet, students will appear for the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS)  from July 1 to July 11, 2020. The exam will be held for students who took admission in 2015-17. Those who are in final-semester BSc Hons, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, and others, will sit for the exam from July 1. However, for final or sixth-semester BA Hons and BCom Hons students, the exams will conducted from July 2, 2020. Students of BA Hons. in English, Hindi, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and others will have exams in the core disciplines from July 2, 2020.

Despite several students and teachers opposing the Open Book Examination (OBE), the University will be conducting the exam. The university has also asked all the colleges to conduct a mock test for students before the actual exams to help students understand the format.

Meanwhile, the schools across Delhi is following summer vacation already and will be over by June 30.

A decision regarding the reopening of schools and other educational institutions will be taken in July, the Ministry of Home Affairs has said. The decision will be taken after consultation with stakeholders.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, teaching and learning activities in schools have been suspended since March 23. The lockdown has further been extended upto June 30 in containment zones.
