HRD Ministry urges science students to take up online engineering courses on NPTEL; check list of courses here

Ministry of Human Resources Development has asked science students to make full utilization of their time during the ongoing lockdown period and join free online engineering courses organized by NPTEL.

Ministry of Human Resources Development has asked science students to take up the free online engineering courses organized by National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL). These courses can be accessed by students by visiting their official website nptel.ac.in.

The curriculum is also released by NPTEL on the official website. Only those students who are in science streams are eligible to take up the courses.'

The HRD ministry has urged students to make the most out of their lockdown period and attend the courses that are available online. The students can choose from various disciplines, content types, and course offering institutions of their choice. 

Steps to download the course material

    • Step 1: Go to the official website of NPTEL i.e. nptel.ac.in.
    • Step 2: On the homepage go to the link that reads subject choice
    • Step 3: Select the course you wish to pursue
    • Step 4: A list of the subjects will open on the screen     
    • Step 5: Register for the courses you are interested in through the link that will be present.
    • Step 6: You can also note the dates that are available separately for each course
    • Step 7: Register yourself and follow the course material provided there

The July December batch enrollments will soon begin on the official website of NPTEL.

This is a great opportunity for the candidates to utilize their time and pursue a course in engineering. The content is available in various videos and audio series. The classes are taken up by eminent professors of IITs such as IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Roorkee, IIT Bombay, etc. and IISc Bangalore.
