IET Lucknow to hold spot counselling for MTech admissions

Interested candidates can appear for counselling/written test for admissions to PG programmes against vacant seats at Committee Hall, Administrative Block, Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), Lucknow, on November 11. 

A circular released by the institute said, “For appearing in counselling/written test, the candidates are required to deposit a registration fee of INR 1,000 through demand draft (DD) only in favour of “Director IET Lucknow” payable at Lucknow at the time of reporting/registration. In case of seat allotment in spot round, the candidate has to confirm the seat on the same day by depositing a demand draft of INR 50,000 drawn in favour of "Director lET Lucknow" payable at Lucknow.” 

Students who have applied earlier for admission to IET, Lucknow, but have not been allotted seat, may apply afresh for this phase counselling (spot).  

Allotment of seats: Following the guidelines of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) regarding admission to MTech courses the allotment of seats in each programme will be strictly based on the merit in following sequence: 

  • First  preference to GATE qualified candidates having valid score in respective discipline. 
  • Second  preference to AKTU PG Entrance 2021 qualified candidates. 
  • Third  preference is  based  on written  test merit (qualifying marks 25 per  cent of  maximum  marks  for GEN/ OBC and 20 per cent  for SC/ST). 

Written test will be conducted only if the seat remains vacant after confirmation by valid GATE/AKTU PG Entrance 2021 qualified candidates.
