IIT Placements 2021: Several students from Indian Institutes of Technology get higher offers, pay packages than before. Scroll down to check institute-wise placement report. 

Placement season across all IITs witnessed institutes recording a significant rise in the number of job offers made to students as compared to last year.  

IIT Kharagpur

Of all IITs, IIT Kharagpur students have so far received the highest number of job offers, i.e. over 1,600. The institute managed to achieve the target within 10 days of the beginning of the placement season. The recruitment process at all IITs began on December 1, 2021. Not only this, a student of the institute has received an offer of INR 2.4 crore. Besides, 22 other students have got offers ranging from INR 0.9 crore and INR 2.4 crore. The first phase of placement concluded at the institute on December 11 and the second phase will begin in the second week of January 2022. 

IIT Madras

IIT Madras recorded a historic high in job offers received during phase I of campus placements for the 2021-22 academic year.  As many as 1,085 offers were made by a total of 226 companies during phase I of campus placements, which concluded on December 10, 2021. This includes 45 international offers from 14 companies, which is also a new record high. Further, 62 startup made 186 offers during the phase I process.

IIT Bombay

A total of 1,723 offers were made to the students of the IIT Bombay. Of these, students have accepted 1,382 offers, including pre-placement offers (PPOs), from 315 companies. This is an all-time high record of number of offers made during the phase I of placements at IIT Bombay. The highest number of offers was rolled out by the engineering and technology sector. The average CTC package this year has been INR 25 lakh per annum. The highest domestic CTC package has been INR 1.68 crore per annum. The number of international offers above one crore are seven and domestic offers above one crore are five.

IIT Kanpur

IIT Kanpur received a total of 1,300 offers at the end of Phase I on placement season, of which 1,100 were accepted, including the 156 PPOs. The institute received 47 international offers at the end of Phase I. It sees a big jump of 150 per cent as compared to last year when total of 19 international offers were received. The highest packages so far are USD 2,87,550 for international and INR 1.2 crore for domestic. In total, 49 offers above INR 1 crore have been received, making it the highest the institute has received so far.

IIT-BHU 

IIT-BHU Varanasi students have received a total of 1,155 job offers within 10 days of placements. Among these, 35 students bagged international offers with the highest package being INR 2.05 crore from Uber. Pramod Kumar Jain, Director, IIT (BHU) Varanasi, said, "For several years, top firms have offered the best salary packages to our graduates and this year too firms such as Uber, Google, Microsoft offered packages equivalent to INR 2 crore to our students."

IIT Hyderabad

As per the IIT Hyderabad Placement 2021 report that was released on December 8, 2021, students have received a total of 466 job offers so far, which is considered the highest during the first phase of campus placement. A total of 104 companies participated in the recruitment drive. The second phase of IIT Hyderabad Placement 2021 would begin in January 2022. 

IIT Patna

IIT Patna has also witnessed record placements for the 2022 graduating batch in phase 1 of the annual placement season till the first week of December 2021. IIT Patna students received 252 offers from various top companies of national and international repute for multiple roles. A total of 96 offers were made to students at the same time last year. This shows the institute has recorded a 162.50 per cent increase in the number of jobs offers.

IIT Bhubaneswar

According to IIT Bhubaneswar, more than 76 per cent BTech and dual degree (integrated BTech and MTech) students were placed in the first three weeks of the placements at the institute.There is a 50 per cent increase in median salary to 24 lakh per annum (LPA) from 16 LPA of last year. The highest offered salary, so far, in this year is INR 44.1 LPA. The average salary has also been increased from INR 16.1 LPA (in 2020) to INR 19.3 LPA this year.
