Jamia Milia Islamia (JMI) has announced that it will not be conducting the pen and paper-based exams for final year students and has directed teachers to evaluate the students on the basis of dissertation or viva.

On June 8, the JMI Standing Academic Council held a meeting regarding the feasibility to hold offline examination for the terminal semester year students in July in view of the prevailing situation due to coronavirus. The conduct of examination in the pen and paper mode was found to be non-viable as the same may further compromise the well-being of students of the university who are from different states since there is a likelihood of a spike in the number of COVID-19 cases, the statement said.
