JEE Advanced 2017: Students to get 18 bonus marks; question wise awarding of marks released

Soon after JEE Advanced 2017 results were declared, it was announced that the IIT Madras will be awarding 18 bonus marks for 5 questions in Paper 1 and Paper 2 of the exam which was held on May 21.

According to the revised final answer keys, out of the 18 bonus marks to be awarded, a total of 7 marks(+3 and +4) have been given to candidates who appeared for Paper 1(Chemistry and Mathematics section) irrespective of any factor.

The remaining 11 bonus marks have been given to 3 questions in Physics and Mathematics sections of JEE Advanced 2017 Paper II. Out of the 11 marks, 3 marks have been awarded to a question in Physics, while 4 marks each have been allotted 2 questions in Mathematics section of the exam.

The bonus marks had to be given out due to the printing inconsistency in the JEE Advanced 2017 exam paper.

Aspirants can now check the question-wise awarding of marks in JEE Advanced 2017 by using their JEE Advanced 2017 registration number, DOB, Mobile number and email address on https://cportal.jeeadv.ac.in/login.html.

JEE Advanced 2017 official answer keys were released on June 4. The IITs(Indian Institutes of Technology) earlier had decided to award 11 bonus marks to students for three 'ambiguous' questions - two from Mathematics and one from Physics - asked in JEE Advanced 2017. Besides this, students were also awarded marks for two other questions - one from Physics and the other one from Chemistry - if they have selected any of the two answers given by the IITs. The decision to award bonus marks was taken after an internal review of the JEE Advanced 2017 question papers by IIT experts. In the year 2016, students were awarded bonus marks for three questions, while in 2015, they received bonus marks for one question.

The last date to submit feedback and comment of JEE Advanced 2017 answer keys was till 5 pm on June 6, 2017 on https://feedback.jeeadv.ac.in/.
