Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced is the exam conducted every year for admission to various undergraduate courses in IITs. IIT Delhi will conduct JEE Advanced 2020 on May 17 as a computer-based Test or in online mode. In a notification released by the IIT Delhi, It has also been announced that a new centre will open in San Francisco for students aspiring for JEE Advanced in the US. The Joint admission board has also decided that 250,000 JEE Main qualified candidates will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2020.
The JEE Advanced 2020 application form will be released tentatively in the first week of May after the declaration of the JEE Main 2020 result. Aspirants must fill the application form and pay the fee within the specified dates. After successful submission of the application form, students need to download the admit card to appear for the JEE Advanced 2020.
The exam consists of two papers, Paper-1 and Paper-2. Both papers will comprise objective type questions. Students must appear in both Paper-1 and Paper-2 and score minimum cutoff marks to qualify the exam and participate in admission processes ahead. - For the first time, candidates in the US will also be able to take JEE Advanced as the JAB has decided to add San Francisco as a new exam centre in 2020.
- The JAB has also decided to increase the number of JEE Main candidates who will qualify to appear from 2,45,000 to 2,50,000.

JEE Advanced Eligibility Criteria 2020
Aspirants among the top 2,50,000 rankers in JEE Main 2020 including all categories will only be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2020. Other than that candidate also have to fulfill at least one of the given below eligibility criteria for admission to bachelor’s, integrated master’s and dual degree programmes at IITs:
- Candidates must have secured a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in Class XII (or equivalent) board examination. The aggregate marks for SC, ST and PWD marks should be at least 65%
- Candidates should be within category-wise Top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class XII (or equivalent) board examination
Out of top 2,50,000 candidates of JEE Main, the percentage of candidates eligible for admissions under different categories are as follows:
- General category candidates (from the common merit list) - 46.5%
- General EWS (from the common merit list) - 4%
- OBC-NCL candidates (from the common merit list) - 27%
- SC candidates – 15%
- ST candidates – 7.5%
- PWD candidates - Horizontal reservation of 5% in all the above categories
JEE Advanced Application Form 2020
The application form of JEE Advanced will be released online tentatively in the first week of May. Only those students who qualify JEE Main 2020 and fulfill other eligibility criteria as mentioned above will be allowed to fill the application form. Students have to follow the below-mentioned steps to fill the application form:
Step 1 - Registration: Students among the top 2,50,000 of JEE Main will only be allowed to register online for JEE Advanced 2020. For log in to the JEE Advanced portal, candidates can use their JEE Main Application Number and Password. After login, additional information and details have to be submitted by candidates.
Step 2 - Uploading Documents: Students will be required to upload their photograph, signature, and marks sheets of class 10 and 12 and category certificate if applicable along with other required documents.
Step 3 - Payment of Application Fees: Students need to pay the application fee after uploading photograph and signature. Students can refer to the table below for the application fee (tentative).

Step 4 - Printing of Confirmation Page: After making payments, students will need to submit their application form. Before submitting their JEE Advanced form, applicants must verify all the entered details diligently. After submitting, take a coloured print of the JEE Advanced 2020 application form and keep it safe for all future reference until the admission process is complete. Students need not send a hard copy of the application form to the JEE Advanced office.

JEE Advanced Admit Card 2020
The JEE Advanced 2020 admit card will be released online tentatively in the second week of May. Students will be required to login to the candidate portal using their application number and password to download it. Students must keep in mind that the admit card of JEE advanced 2020 will not be sent to the candidates through post or any other means.
Candidates should also check and verify their details mentioned on the admit card. In case of any discrepancy, they must contact the exam conducting authorities. The admit card will mention details like name, photograph, student’s signature and other details like application number, exam centre address, date, and timing of exam.

JEE Advanced Result 2020
JEE Advanced result 2020 is expected to be announced by the IIT Delhi in the third week of June, 2020 on the official website. Aspirants will be required to enter their details like registration number, date of birth, mobile number and email ID to check JEE Advanced results. Exam conducting authority will also send a text message on the registered mobile number of every test taker regarding the declaration of JEE Advanced 2020 result. It must be noted that the candidate will not receive any hard copies of their rank cards. It can be downloaded from the official website only after the result announcement.

JoSAA is responsible for the joint seat allocation process for admissions to 97 institutes including 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 23 IIITs and 20 Other GFTIs.
