A. The preparation strategy and schedule were prepared by our teachers in the coaching institute and we followed it without being failed. The strategy helped to get the second rank in the JEE Advanced. Along with that, I also appeared for weekly mock tests conducted by the coaching to assess the performance. The mock test helped to know my preparation level and weak areas in the three subjects.

Q. How did your parents help in the JEE Advanced 2020 preparation?

A. I am thankful to my performance for supporting me so well during the exam preparation. They have parents motivated me and never pressurised me for getting good marks. In case of my marks are low in any of the mock tests, they encouraged me to perform better in the next test. Talking to them helped me in getting out of the stress created due to studies. They made me mentally strong for facing the exam well.

Q. Since when you have started preparing for the JEE Advanced?

A. I started preparing for the JEE Advanced from class 11th. During my preparation, I focussed on learning basics concepts important from exam point of view, solved problems that are of exam level or tougher and also prepared for the board exam. During the studies, whenever I faced any doubt or stuck to a problem, teachers were always available for clearing and helping me in solving them.

Q. How much you used to study daily? How did you keep yourself fit during the study period?

A. My class 12 Board exams were over by March. After that, the lockdown was imposed in the entire country due to COVID-19. I utilised this time well for my studies. I used these six months by solving higher-level problems along with the coaching assignments and revising all the concepts regularly. During my studies, I did yoga to keep myself fit and relaxed.

Q. What will be your preferred branch and institute on qualifying the JEE Advanced 2020?

A. My most preferred branch will be Computer Science Engineering (CSE) in the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay.
