The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has today announced JEE Main and NEET exam dates. JEE Main is scheduled to be held in multiple sessions from July 18 to July 23 while NEET will be conducted on July 26.

Earlier, the JEE Main 2020 April Exam and NEET 2020 exams were postponed along with other competitive exams due to the coronavirus outbreak in the country and the nationwide lockdown which was imposed as a preventive measure to contain the virus.

The HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, while interacting with students during a live session, announced that  JEE Main April 2020 exam date will be conducted from July 18 to 23 and NEET 2020 exam date will be held on July 26. 

He also said that the JEE Advance dates will be announced later, but are expected to be conducted in August.

During his interaction with the students, field their questions regarding college sessions and entrance examinations. 

The National Testing Agency (NTA) had earlier deferred that the JEE Main Exam 2020 which was scheduled to be conducted on April 5,7,8 and 11 has been rescheduled to the last week of May. The NEET exam, which was supposed to be held on May 3, was also postponed due to the extension in the lockdown period.

The NTA conducts the NEET for those who are seeking admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, Veterinary, and other medical/paramedical courses in India. It is the sole medical entrance examination that is conducted for admission to MBBS and BDS courses. AIIMS and JIPMER MBBS examinations have also been merged with the NTA NEET examination.

Earlier, the NTA had also extended the last date for correction of application of both the exams until May 3. Registered candidates can change or modify the particulars in the filled-in JEE Main 2020 application form and choice of exam cities on or before the above-defined date. 

JEE Main is conducted for the students seeking admission to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs around the country. Candidates who qualify the JEE Main 2020 and are among the top 2.5 lakh score holders become eligible for JEE Advanced to get admission in various undergraduate engineering programmes offered by IITs in India.

Once, the dates are announced for the JEE Main 2020 April Exam and NEET 2020 exam, the NEET Admit Card 2020 and JEE Main Admit Card 2020 will also be released.
