JNU releases new academic calendar, exams to be completed by July 31
Jawaharlal Nehru University has released its Academic Calendar for monsoon session and will resume classes from June 25.
Jawaharlal Nehru Univerisity (JNU) has announced that it will resume its classes from June 25 and will complete the Winter Semester exams by July 31, 2020.
The varsity has also released the new Academic Calendar on its official website i.e. jnu.ac.in.Students can check the academic calendar by visiting the official website.
The academic calendar released by JNU has been tailored for monsoon session and includes dates and details about the resumption of classes and holding of semester exams. The new academic calendar also confirmed that exams for Winter Semester to be over by July 31.
As per the new JNU Academic Calendar, the students are expected to return to the campus between June 25 to June 30, 2020. Once, the students will return the varsity will finish its remaining academic components and complete the examinations.
During the release of the Academic Calendar, the JNU Vice-Chancellor M Jagadesh Kumar said that "the calendar has been unanimously approved by all the deans of Schools and Chairpersons of Special Centres."
As per the new Academic Calendar released by the JNU Administration, the varsity will start the new academic session from August 1, 2020, irrespective of the completion of examinations by July end. The University plans to grant provisional registration/administration to the students and allow them to join the next semester. The registration process for the monsoon semester will be held completely online, to help students complete the registration easily during the ongoing nationwide lockdown.
However, the varsity has also mentioned that the academic calendar is subject to change based on the coronavirus situation in the country and the guidelines issued by the government of India/ University Grants Commission (UGC) regarding the same.
