KCET vs COMEDK – Explanation 

Both KCET and COMEDK exams are conducted for admissions to engineering courses. Candidates can appear for both exams to increase their chances of admission to engineering colleges. 

Q:   What is the KCET exam pattern?

A:

Karnataka Examination Authority releases the KCET 2025 exam pattern in the official notification. Applicants appearing in the exam are advise to refer to the KCET exam pattern 2025 for their preparations. The exam pattern of KCET 2025 comprises various components like duration of exam, marking scheme and others. KCET exam is conducted for three subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) for a duration of 80 minutes each. Applicants will be awarded with one mark for every correct answers while there is no negative marking for incorrect answers in KCET exam. Applicants from Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga also have to appear for the KCET Kannada language exam which is conducted for a duration of 60 minutes.

A:

Karnataka Examination Authority releases the KCET marking scheme 2025 in the official notification. Applicants appearing in the exam will be awarded one mark for every correct answers. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers in KCET 2025 exam. KEA will not deduct any marks for unattempted questions in KCET exam. As the exam is conducted in offline mode, applicants are advise to mark their answers carefully in OMR sheet. The questions with multiple options marked will be considered as wrong. Candidates are advise to cross check their answers before marking it in OMR sheet. Do not write anything on KCET OMR sheet other than marking answers. 

Q:   What is the COMEDK UGET marking scheme?

A:

The consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka mentions the COMEDK UGET marking scheme along with the official notification. Applicants appearing in the exam are advised to go through marking scheme. The marking scheme for COMEDK UGET 2025 exam is as follows:

  • Each correct answer is awarded 1 mark.
  • There is no negative marking for incorrect or unanswered questions.

In case of a tie, the tie-breaking rules are as follows:

  • The candidate with less number of wrong answers will be ranked higher.
  • If the tie still persists, the candidate with more marks in Mathematics (for engineering) or Aptitude Test (for architecture) will be ranked higher.
  • If the tie still persists, the candidate with more marks in Physics (for engineering) or Drawing Test (for architecture) will be ranked higher.
  • If the tie still persists, the candidate with higher age will be ranked higher.

The percentile is derived by Percentage of candidates who have got equal to or lower score than the candidate. COMEDK UGET percentile is normalized between the 2 sessions. The application process for both KCET and COMEDK exam is completely online. The application process of COMEDK UGET and KCET comprises registration, filling form, uploading documents and payment of fee.
