Mystory@Nithin E: How I chose my course and college
I opted for Science in my higher secondary studies because I was in love with Chemistry at that time. Actually, I was confused about what to do after Class XII. I had no aim as such. My parents started thinking about my future studies, since I was not able to take a decision.
I appeared for Kerala Engineering Entrance Exam but I was still confused about want to do. The results came and I got a seat in the famous government engineering college of Kerala Mahatma Gandhi University College of Engineering for Polymer Engineering stream. My parents and my sister told me to take the opportunity but I was totally confused because I had not given engineering a thought until then. From that day onwards, I started dreaming of becoming an engineer and completed my graduation.

How I cracked MBA college admission
Immediately after completing engineering I was not in the mood to take up a job even though I was selected by some good firms. I started dreaming about my own firm and me sitting in the seat of Managing Director. I discussed this with my sister who is a good consultant for me when it comes to education. She told me to pursue MBA as it would be helpful for me in the future with such a dream.
I decided to take up MBA, and as a first step I wrote MAT and CAT exam without any coaching. I started preparing for the exam from the day I saw the notification. I collected previous years’ question bank and started preparing on my own for the test. I got 79% in MAT which was more than enough to get admission in good colleges. I preferred Bangalore for my higher studies (since it is a IT hub) and started searching for colleges. I discussed with my friends for their opinion while selecting the right college.
During that time, I received a call from Adarsh Institute of Management And Information Technology (AIMIT) Bangalore, which is one of the oldest and famous colleges under Bangalore University. I attended the interview and got selected; they also offered me a small amount as scholarship. I visited the college, but initially I was not happy because of its small campus. When I went to college and met the students, they told me, “it is the right place for you to do your MBA”. The feedback of students of the college gave me more confidence and I chose AIMIT as my final destination to pursue MBA.
AIMIT has good infrastructure, qualified faculty members and good placement packages. This made me choose AIMIT and I am happy with the decision till now as a student.
My college Life
It’s always been good to spend time in AIMIT campus. The college provides quality education and support to nourish my talent in the field of technology and management. The campus organises inter-college and intra-college fests, which makes me enjoy studying in this campus. I participated in a lot of fests till date inside AIMIT and outside the campus in various colleges. I won second price in business quiz during at an intra-college fest which encouraged me a lot to concentrate on business related news. The college authorities encourage students to participate in management fests in different colleges outside the campus.
The college has good library and computer labs. The college always conducts workshops which are valuable to students. Spending time in college is more difficult for me since I am not a person who likes classroom studies. Students from all parts of India are studying in this campus. This helps us know the culture and values of people from different states. The college offers a mix of pleasure trips and industrial visits. The industrial visit was to the famous sugar industry of Mysore. The campus gave us an opportunity to visit Coco Cola, Britannia and Mysore Silks as part of our MBA education. The trips were really useful to us since we got a lot of practical knowledge from industry experts. The teaching methodology is truly based on live case studies from industries. This makes us understand more about the problems that different industries face today.
