Telangana Govt signs MoUs to offer design engineering courses in aviation

The Government of Telangana has signed 2 MoUs (Memorandum of Understanding) to set up Skill Development Centres in the aviation sector. The MoUs were signed by the government officials recently at Aero India 2017, Bengaluru.

An official release by the Government of Telangana stated that “During the day, the government of Telangana has signed two significant MoU’s pertaining to setting up skill development facilities in Hyderabad.”

The first MoU was signed with France which involves three partners, namely Aero School Aquitaine, Airbus and National Skill Development Council. The aim of this partnership is to create a top-class Aero Skills Academy in collaboration with the academia and other industries based in the state capital. Its key focus is on developing skills of the youth and experienced professionals in accordance with the set standards of the latest industry trends.

“The first of them involves three partners besides the government, namely Airbus, National Skill Development Council, and Aero School Aquitaine of France. This consortium will create a skill development Centre in the old airport of Begumpet, and will design engineering courses relevant for the industry,” stated the official release.

The other MoU was signed with Cranfield University, UK, which is one of the leading aeronautical engineering universities across the globe.

The new academia will offer specialized course programmes in the field of aeronautical engineering, manufacturing and maintenance. It will also offer basic training programmes for young students and vocational training. A few short duration courses may also be included in the list. The same will be tailor-made as per the industry requirements for experienced technicians.

A series of meetings were organized by the Ministry of Defense in the Aero India, Bangalore which was led by k.t Rama Rao - Minister of Industries and IT.
