GUJCET Exam Pattern 2025: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board has released the GUJCET 2025 exam pattern. Candidates can check here GUJCET paper pattern to know the basic details about the exam like the total number of questions, duration of the exam, number of sections, and marking scheme.

Candidates who will be appearing in the GUJCET 2025 exam must have information about the pattern of the exam. GUJCET 2025 exam will be conducted in offline mode as a Pen and Paper-based test. There will be two papers in GUJCET 2025 exam wherein Paper 1 will comprise questions in Physics and Chemistry and Paper 2 will comprise questions in Mathematics.

The exam will have a total of 120 questions of 1 mark each, 40 each from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The total duration of exam is 3 hours. There will be negative marking of 0.25 in case of incorrect answer.

Q:   What is the passing marks in GUJCET?

A:

As per GUJCET pattern set by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB), candidates from the general category are required to score at least 54 marks to qualify for the GUJCET participating institutes 2023 while for the reserved candidates, the GUJCET passing mark is 48. The total marks for GUJCET question paper is 120. The paper has 120 questions.

Q:   What type of questions are asked in GUJCET?

A:

The GUJCET question paper will have questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology as per the prescribed syllabus. Each Subject will have one section with Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs). Students have to answer every questions and there will be no internal choices.

Q:   How many questions are asked in GUJCET exam?

The GUJCET exam has a total of 120 questions from all three subjects. The exam has 40 questions each from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. All the 120 questions will be multiple choice questions. Students need to complete all the 120 questions in 3 hours.

GUJCET Exam Pattern 2025

As per the pattern of the GUJCET 2025, the exam will have two papers, Paper 1 which will have questions from Physics, and Chemistry, and Paper 2 which will have questions from Mathematics.  

The first paper, Paper 1 will be held in the morning shift and will consist of 80 questions, 40 each from Physics and Chemistry, and the total duration of the paper will be 120 minutes. The second paper, Paper 2 will be held in the afternoon shift and will consist of 80 questions, 40 each from Mathematics and Biology.

Engineering aspirants will be required to solve only the Mathematics part of Paper 2 while the Pharmacy aspirants will have to solve the Biology section. Candidates can check the below table for more details about the GUJCET 2025 exam pattern.

Q:   Is there a negative marking in GUJCET?

A:

GUJCET paper have negative marking of one fourth mark for every incorrect answer. In GUJCET exam, each question is of 1 marks and for every incorrect answer, one-fourth (O.25) mark is deducted. No marks are deducted for unattempted questions. For any question, if none of the options is found correct or a question is found to be wrong or  dropped, then full marks will be awarded to all candidates irrespective of the fact whether the question has been attempted or not attempted by the candidate.

Q:   Do I need to attempt all the questions in GUJCET exam?

A:

It is not compulsory to attempt all the question in exam. Students can attempt any number of questions out of total 120 questions in the exam.

Students are advised to attempt only those questions for which they can arrive at the answer/solutions. Questions for which the answer is not sure should be left as incorrect answer would lead to negative marking.

Students must note that there are no minimum marks in GUJCET that students need to score. Students gets All India Rank based on the marks they secure in exam and gets admission based on that rank.

Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) conducts GUJCET exam in offline mode as a pen-paper test. Q:   What is the difficulty level of GUJCET?

A:

The difficulty level of GUJCET is similar to class 12 board exams. Also, the syllabus of GUJCET is similar to class 11 and 12 syllabus. However, the questions asked in GUJCETs are tricky and required in-depth understanding of the subjects. Students need to have conceptual understanding of each topics to get a good score in the exam. The high weightage topics from class 11 and 12 Physics as per previous year paper analysis are Current Electricity, Waves, AC, Magnetism, Laws of Motion, Work, Power and Energy. GUJCET will conducted in two sections as:

  1. Section-1: Physics & Chemistry 
  2. Section-2: Mathematics/ Biology 

So section-1 will be common for both groups of students. while section-2 will be different for both groups of students. B.Tech students will attempt Mathematics and Biology for pharmacy students.
