JEE AME or Joint Entrance Exam for Aeronautical Engineering or Aircraft Management Engineering is a national level Scholarship cum admission exam for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering at the institutes approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

JEE AME is a multiple-choice objective-type test that is conducted in paper-pencil based or offline mode in English and Hindi. The candidates can attempt the JEE-AME exam three times. The exam authorities announced that there would be no application fee to be paid by the aspirants in order to apply for JEE AME.

The candidates should pass or have appeared in the Class 12 Board exam in the Science stream (PCM). Candidates pursuing or completed a three-year Diploma in Engineering. The areas or subjects covered in the JEE AME exam are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. For the Engineering Diploma candidates, the subjects include English, General Knowledge and Engineering Aptitude.

The eligibility criteria of the JEE AME 2024 exam are as follows:

• Candidates should pass or have appeared for the Class 12 Board exam in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) subject combination.
• Candidates who have pursued a three-year Diploma in Engineering from an AICTE recognised institute or have pursued a higher qualification in Physics or Mathematics will also be eligible for JEE AME 2024.
• The age of the candidates should be between 16 and 25 at the time of admission.

The application process for JEE AME 2024 exam is completely online. The applicants need to follow the below steps:

• Applicants have to visit the official website of JEE AME and register by entering personal details like name, email id and mobile number along with a chosen password.
• The login credentials will be generated and sent to them through email and SMS.
• Candidates have to log in with the given credentials to complete the JEE AME 2024 application process.
• After logging in, candidates have to enter the requisite details in terms of personal, academic, selecting test cities and mode of the test, file upload, etc.
• The names of the candidates and their parents should be exactly the same as those registered in the Class 12 Board exam and there should be no prefix or title added to names, such as Mr /Shri / Fr / Dr / Mrs / Smt / Col, etc. in the JEE AME 2024 application form.

• While uploading his/her photograph in the JEE AME 2024, candidates must upload a clear coloured or black and white photograph with the candidate’s name and date of taking the photograph printed on it. The candidate should not wear caps or goggles while taking the photograph, however, wearing spectacles is allowed.
• Eligible candidates from Jammu & Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya need to enter their passport number, ration card number, bank account number or any other valid Govt. identity number provided they should select the city of examination in these states only.
• Candidates must ensure filling correct and accurate information while filling out the JEE AME application form, even though they will be given a chance to make corrections in the application form for a brief period.
• The application fee and payment process that was followed the previous year, or for the coming years are covered in the table below.

The fee can be paid through Credit/Debit Card or E-Challan generated during JEE AME application form filling process. Candidates opting for the E-Challan mode have to pay the application fee in cash in a designated ICICI Bank branch.

• After completing the JEE AME application form filling process, candidates have to check the application status by logging in to the official website.

Candidates need to download the JEE AME 2024 admit card online by following the steps below:

• Visit the official website of JEE AME and login through your credentials
• Click on the link indicating downloading of admit card
• Take multiple prints and preserve till the admission process is complete

The JEE AME 2024 Admit Card consists of the following information:

• Candidate’s name
• Candidate’s Roll Number
• Candidate’s photograph
• Candidate’s Date of Birth
• Candidate’s contact details such as address, mobile number and email id
• JEE AME 2024 exam date and timing

• Exam day instructions

Upon downloading the JEE AME 2024 admit card, candidates should check if all the information or personal details are correct. In case of any error, they should contact the exam officials to get those rectified.

The JEE AME 2024 Admit Card is the must-carry document along with photo identity cards, without which the candidates will not be allowed entry to the exam centre.

The JEE AME 2024 exam pattern varies for the candidates who have passed Class 12 Board exam and those who have done Diploma in Engineering. However, the overall exam structure of JEE AME structure is the same for both the candidate categories.

JEE Main is conducted in offline mode, for a duration of two-hours in both English and Hindi languages. Apart from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, the exam also tests candidates’ knowledge on English and General Knowledge.

Marking Scheme: Each question carries four marks, which will be awarded to the test takers for every correct answer. For each wrong answer, there is negative marking scheme of one mark. No marks will be awarded or deducted for wrong answers. The total marks in the exam is 360.

The JEE AME 2024 syllabus is of a similar level as that of the Class 12 Board exam. Candidates who are preparing or have appeared for the Board exam may find the syllabus similar, hence easy to prepare for. The table below covers the subject-wise JEE AME 2023 syllabus, as released by the exam officials.

Candidates should follow the instructions before appearing for the JEE AME 2024 exam below.

• The exam hall will open two-hours in advance; hence candidates should reach the venue well in time to avoid last-minute rush and have adequate time for security checks.
• Apart from the JEE AME admit card, the candidates have to carry photo identity cards and medical documents (for candidates with diabetes or any other health conditions or PwD certificate from competent authorities).
• Candidates who would be appearing for the Aptitude Test subject will have to carry their own stationery items such as geometry box, pencils, erasers, colour pencils/crayons, etc.
• Candidates will not be allowed to carry any personal belongings, electronic items, books or notebooks, eatables or drinks inside the test hall. Only those candidates suffering from diabetes or any other ailments are allowed to carry fruits and water in transparent bottles. No packaged food will be allowed.
• Candidates have to take the seats assigned to them, and no other seat.
• Upon receiving the test booklet, candidates have to fill their particulars on the cover page and wait for the invigilator’s instruction before opening it.
• Candidates have to check that the Test Booklet Code printed on Side-2 of the Answer Sheet is the same as printed on the Test Booklet. In case of discrepancy, they should immediately report the matter to the Invigilator for replacement of both the Test Booklet and the Answer Sheet.

• The candidates need to check that the Test-booklet contains as many numbers of pages as written on the top of the first page of the Test Booklet. The candidates should also verify the serial number and series of the Test Booklet with the serial number and series of OMR sheet. In case of any variation, the Test Booklet and OMR sheet should be immediately returned to the invigilator for the replacement with another set of same series available in the exam hall.

• Test takers have to use blue/black ballpoint pen for answering the test. Usage of any other coloured ink or pencils is not allowed. The ballpoint pens will be provided to the test takers by the exam authorities inside the test hall. Hence, they need not carry their own pens.
• The candidates have to sign twice on the Attendance Sheet at the appropriate place. Firstly, after the commencement of the exam and for the second time, while handing over the Answer Sheet to the Invigilator. The candidates are also required to put their left-hand thumb impression in the space provided in the Attendance Sheet.

• Candidates will not be allowed to leave the test hall before the schedule, even if s/he completes the test.

The JEE AME 2024 result is generally declared after the exam in an online mode in the form of a scorecard. Here are the steps to check the JEE AME 2024 result:

What does the JEE AME 2024 Scorecard Carry?

The JEE AME 2024 scorecard or result contains the following information:

• Candidate name
• Candidate Roll Number
• Subject wise score
• Overall score out of 360
• All India Rank

After the declaration of the JEE AME 2024 scorecard, the exam authorities release the merit list on the official website.

After the declaration of the result, the exam officials declare the JEE AME 2024 cut-offs. Candidates who fulfil the cut-offs will be eligible to appear for the JEE AME 2024 counselling process. The eligible candidates will be called for the JEE AME 2024 counselling process through the official website, SMS, email, and newspaper.

The JEE AME 2024 counselling schedule and venue details will be announced on the official website. However, the allotment of seats will depend on the availability of the seats on the day of the JEE AME 2024 counselling.

Reservation of seats: Out of the total seats, 30 per cent are reserved. While 15 per cent seats are reserved for the female candidates, another 15 per cent of the seats are reserved for three-years Engineering Diploma holder or any higher qualification in Science with Physics and Mathematics.

Seat allocation process and admission process:  The seat allotment process will be carried out in accordance with the JEE-AME 2024 AIR (All India Rank) of the candidate, subject to the order of preference given for the seats and availability of seat in the institute. Once the seat is allotted to the candidate, no change in the Institution or Course can be made.

The JEE AME 2024 Scholarship will be provided to the candidates based on their performance in the entrance test. The criteria for availing the JEE AME 2024 Scholarship are as follows:

The scholarships will be awarded after the first semester of the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course. The students have to clear all respective internal and external modules exams in respective semesters as per the Institute’s syllabus on the first attempt only.

A. Candidates who appeared for the Class 12 Board exam were eligible to take the JEE AME 2024 exam.

Q. Can I take the test from my home in online mode?

A. No, the applicants will have to appear for the test in the allocated test centre in the city opted by them while filling the application form. The mode of the exam is paper-pencil based, or offline.

Q. I am a final year Engineering Diploma student with a back in a couple of papers in the final exam. Will I be able to get admission for AME course through JME?

A. Such candidates will be eligible to appear for the test, but in case they qualify JEE AME and get a seat through the Counselling process, they will be given provisional admission. The final admission offer will be extended only after they clear the back subjects.

Q. How shall I prepare for JEE AME?

A. The aspirants should make sure that they follow the JEE AME syllabus as prescribed by the exam officials. The syllabus is similar to that of the Class 12 Board exam. Hence, a thorough revision of the core subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English would suffice.

Q. How to prepare for the General Knowledge section of the test?

A. The GK section will carry both static GK as well as current affairs questions. The best way to prepare for this subject is by regularly reading newspaper, magazines and preparing from yearbooks. A. Yes, the exam authorities release the previous years’ question papers on the official website, which registered candidates can download by logging in from their credentials.
