AMU conducts BA, BSc, BCom entrance tests in Aligarh and 6 more cities
The tests were conducted in two shifts with necessary precautions to prevent the COVID from spreading at centres in different parts of the country
The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) conducted entrance tests for various undergraduate level courses across India. The entrance test for BA, B.Sc, B.Com entrance tests were held in Aligarh and six other cities in the country.
As many as 8682 students appeared for the entrance tests for admission to the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) programme at the Aligarh Muslim University, while 3749 appeared for the Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) entrance tests which were held on Sunday, September 19.
Around 10.896 candidates had applied for the Bachelor of Arts (BA) entrance exam.
The tests were conducted in two shifts with necessary precautions to prevent the COVID from spreading at centres in different parts of the country, including Aligarh, Lucknow, Kolkata, Srinagar, Patna, Kozhikode and Guwahati.
AMU, Vice-Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor said: "Conducting exams in the pandemic has been challenging in universities across the country—we have worked hard to find ways for the usual admission procedures. We are glad that the admission process will start soon following the result of these entrance examinations".
He visited various exam centres in AMU with the University Proctor, Prof Mohd Wasim Ali to ensure smooth conduct of the examination with necessary COVID-19 protocols.
Senior faculty members were deputed as observers and some faculty members were appointed overall In-charge at the centres located outside Aligarh to supervise the smooth conduct of admission tests.
Special help camps were organised by the National Service Scheme (NSS) of the University at important places to provide guidance to the candidates. The parents of candidates appreciated the efforts of the University authorities for providing the necessary help in the smooth conduct of the test.
