CLAT 2020 now on August 22 in a Social Distanced Computer Based Testing mode, Applications extended

CLAT Consortium in a meeting held on June 29 decided to conduct CLAT 2020 in a Social Distanced Computer-Based Testing (SD-CBT) mode. Candidates can apply until July 10. Read here to know more.

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2020 will now be held on June 22 in a Computer-Based Test mode with precautions against the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. The exam is a Social Distanced Computer-Based Testing (SD-CBT) mode and, the exam authority also shared medical precautions for the exam day. Moreover, CLAT 2020 registration has been extended until July 10. The consortium has also considered giving candidates a chance to withdraw their registration if they feel health risk due to Coronavirus. In such a case, CLAT 2020 registration will be refunded to the candidates after deducting nominal processing charges. 

The official notification released by CLAT Consortium on June 30 stated, "Today, the Consortium of NLUs announces the following decisions in relation to the conduct of the CLAT 2020:

  1. The CLAT 2020 shall be conducted through a computer-based, online, centre-based test to be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020.
  2. The full list of examination centres for the CLAT 2020 will be notified to all candidates on July 1, 2020;
  3. Candidates may register for CLAT 2020 till July 10, 2020;
  1. All registered candidates shall:
  2. Select or reconfirm their test centres
  3. Withdraw their registration; by July 10, 2020
  4. Where a candidate withdraws from CLAT 2020, their application fee shall be refunded after a deduction of INR 400 for SC/ST candidates and INR 500 for all other candidates towards processing charges. Refunds will be made by July 18, 2020."

CLAT Consortium has also changed the exam pattern of CLAT LLM 2020 by removing the descriptive test. Now, there will be only 120 questions in CLAT LLM paper to be completed in two hours.
