CLAT 2020 scheduled to be held on June 21 has been postponed again and, application process extended to July 1 as the lockdown 4.0 begins across the country. Read here to know more. 

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has postponed CLAT 2020 again, which was earlier rescheduled to June 21 due to COVID-19 lockdown extension. The decision on a fresh date of CLAT 2020 is pending until further notice. Moreover, the last date of application for CLAT 2020 has been extended until July 1, it was scheduled to end on May 18.

In the official notification, Prof. Balraj Chauhan, Convenor, CLAT 2020 stated - "The Executive Committee of the Consortium of National Law Universities met on 18th May 2020 to review the impact of COVID-19 Lockdowns for the conduct of CLAT 2020. The Executive Committee unanimously resolved: 

1. To extend the last date for online applications to 1st July 2020; and,

2. To announce a date for the CLAT 2020 exam by 1st July 2020 giving students at least 21 days’ prior notice for the exam."

This is deemed that the examination, CLAT will now be held in the last week of July 2020 as stated in the notification above. The admit cards of CLAT 2020 will be issued to all the applicants in the second week of July 2020. Candidates who have already filled in their application form of CLAT 2020 can make changes related to exam centre preferences and other details as the edit application form is enabled by the consortium. 

CLAT Consortium has not announced any change in the mode of examination as yet and they're monitoring the lockdown situation of the country closely.

What will happen if the CLAT 2020 survey form is not filled?

Probably, CLAT Consortium will analyse the situation and then take the decision to conduct the exam. While it was not mandatory for students to fill the survey, but filling it would have helped CLAT Consortium take the decision. These times are uncertain and CLAT Consortium will decide what's best.
